God or Satan - Who Controls the Weather?

Typhoon Rai (Philippines Odette) devastated the Philippines with the most powerful typhoon of 2021. The Philippine government is reporting 12 dead. However, the New York Post (a more reliable source) is reporting 32 deaths. But the counting has just begun as Odette has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). Odette destroyed Christmas for multiple thousands upon thousands of Filipino people.

Typhoon Odette damage

The government of the Philippines is known to downplay deaths and injuries when disasters occur. For example, on November 8, 2013, super Typhoon Haiyan (local Yolanda) struck the Philippines with gusts as strong as 315 km/h. Tacloban city, in Leyte province of the central Philippines, was hit the hardest.

Typhoon Yolanda - Tacloban City

A police official by the name of Chief Superintendent Elmer Soria estimated 10,000 deaths occurred and he was sacked for his prediction. As it turns out, the man was not far off from his estimate. The government was reporting around 3,000 dead. In the end, in excess of 6,300 people lost their lives and another 1,061 were declared missing. Governments lie to protect their own skin, but God does not lie.

God is in total control

The Bible informs us that God is in control of the world. Climate Change alarmists are propagandists for the United Nations and the globalist elite who seek to place a carbon tax on those far less wealthy than they are.

The adherents of Climate Change worship at the altars of Al Gore, Greta Thunberg, and the UN. Nary a one of these people know God. Neither do they know that nothing occurs in our world and in the universe without God's approval.

Through His divine providence, God provides for and protects those who belong to Him through Christ Jesus, but He also allows Satan, demons, and all of humanity to exercise their limited will to commit acts of sin, evil, and wickedness.

God controls the weather, not Satan.

Biblical proof of God's control

"Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s" (Exodus 9:29, NIV).

He controls the skies and the rain (Psalm 77:16-19). God controls even the lightning (Psalm 18:14). Gos sustains the entire universe (Hebrews 1:3).

Satan's limited control

Satan is not divine but rather is a fallen angel, booted from heaven because of his pride. Though he was one of the more cherished and powerful angels, he wanted to be God.

The Bible states: "Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born" (Revelation 12:4, NIV).

This verse is referencing Satan and one-third of his angels (demons) who followed his devious plan and desire to serve him rather than God who created them. They were kicked out of heaven before Adam and Eve were created, and Satan, that ancient serpent, was in the Garden of Eden. His plan was to thwart God's plan and it was Satan who enticed Eve to sin, and then Adam followed in sin thereafter.

At present, Satan maintains access to heaven from time to time, but this will cease during the middle of the tribulation period of the last days. Satan's opposition to God's plan to redeem fallen humanity has been readily obvious since the dawn of human history, and it was distinctly clear in Herod's attempt to kill the baby Jesus, whom he saw as a threat to his kingship (Matthew 2:7–13).

As in the case of Job, Satan is only able to control the weather with God's permission.

Remember

Let's remember that God is always in control of every circumstance in each of our lives. In His omniscience, He knew every detail regarding each of our lives before He created us.

God's timing and His plans always succeed. And while we may not know or understand why He does what He does, we will know these mysteries when we get to heaven.

Finally, there can be no meaningless suffering for any true believer in Christ Jesus, whether the suffering is caused by humanity or by a natural occurring event. Again, we may not always know why evil acts or natural disasters occur, but we can rest assured that in all our trials and tribulations God is working all things together for His glory and for our everlasting good. How do we know this?

Read this and be at peace

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[ have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:18-28, NIV).

Right. The Devil is only allowed to do certain things. God is divine, Satan is not.

God owns the weather but Satan is surely the one controlling It that is why we are having series of tribulations upon tribulations but when It is the appointed time, God will destroy Satan and will then be in total control of the weather of which at that time, there won't such disastrous things as the typhoon, foresfires and many more other unwanted things

God could be allowing it. But Satan and all unbelievers lose out in the end for all eternity.

Iloilo is also greatly affected, houses are wiped out near the shore and lots of properties been drowned by flood and water flow, I don't know if it's God act to make his creation suffer from this kind of calamity? Is this his punishment punishment for cruelty of mankind? Still I don't know but i feel pity for the victims of this typhoon, I know it will ends since the typhoon will travel to another another country that may rampage and get people lives.

I heard about Iloilo. Horrible. Though I would not definitely say that God did this for a lesson and as an act of judgment, it is entirely possible. He used the weather to afflict His enemies in the Bible.

Who are God's enemies? Those who do not believe. Those who teach false doctrines, continue in wicked practices, and consult with other "gods."

As you know, we have an abundance of cults in the Philippines. Again, I will not argue that He sent the destruction as a judgment, but the possibility exists.

The destruction is massive. Bohol is wiped out and everything is flooded below us. I've gathered some clothing and supplies but am waiting for a legit source to send the things to the victims. I don't trust the Red Cross.

We also have a bag of clothing, some soap, et to give. I'll be looking for a reputable relief agency to drop the items off.
