Never Takes Ownership

As an employee, there are behaviors that needs to be address in order to enhance our work performance and will not be branded as a poor employee.
I have been an employee for about two decades and my company is a huge one. We have a big land area with plenty of buildings and our population is more than 20,000. Quite big right? Anyways, that big figure never know each other. Some have many acquaintances and some only see familiar faces in some department and buildings.
However, in my work environment in our building, there are lot to consider in order to adjust and have a good working relationship to others. Because I am working on the production side where a lot of employees needs to attend and also equipments that needs to be known. I have to deal with different persons attitude and behavior at work. Also instructions and chain of command is sometimes not follow hence it starts some work relationship conflicts. But there are more behaviors that needs to be
Without much excitement, I will give some problematic employee behaviors that we might have.
Poor Job Performance
Any workplace you will find this kind of employee. Some are those lazy ones or they just want to be compensated without making more effort with their job. In our workplace, we find plenty of them and we really call their attention so they can improve and will not grounds them to lose their job. Since poor job performance is included in our company policy that may have some reasons for an employee to get terminated after having many poor job performance evaluations in a two consecutive years.
Doesn't Work Well With Others
This is an attitude problem with some employee. We also have this, it really gives us a headache and hard time how to manage these kind of employee. We escalate and find other employees that can blend its attitude with less supervision. If still it doesn't work we will have another option to transfer them to some work assignment. Though as long as the superior can manage how to make these kind of employee work with others it will be a smooth working place then.
Not Responsive to Coaching
In our company, we have lots of seminars and orientations for different roles of employees. For me, I enjoyed it since we also have classes at times and exam and some performance task. Its nice because it will help you grow and have the chance to get promoted if you will just use what you get from the coaching classes. Though there are really employees who are close minded and do not want to grow. Their reasoning also gives you stress that is why having such employee in your group is a problem that needs to be attend too.
Resistant to Change
In our workplace, we need to be versatile. Me before only knows one machine until I learned another one and another one. Also our operators have their own process and they have learned processes so we can easily fill those process during absences. Yet some are hardheaded and reasons out that they cannot do it because its hard. Really? Why can others can? These kinds of employees are mostly transfer to other departments if they will keep on resisting to change.
Never Takes Ownership
However to all that I have mention, taking responsibility is really important to me. Hence to employees who never takes ownerships is what I hate the most. Actually, I have encountered a lot of this kind at work. It makes me furious at times but not the right action to deal with them.
Making decisions and doing actions in workplace must be taken will full responsibility no matter what. But some employees do not take responsibility in their actions and put the blames to others. Ohh..this is not a good sign especially if one is a superior or higher rank. I have known some thus I am careful at times with them. When they have some request task, I really ask for problem procedures and all the approved documents before making it happen. So just in case, things will turn upside down, we all know who will be responsible.
Above mentions are just a few but I know if you are working in a company, you have meet these kinds of employee.
Lastly, being an employee or not, we should behave properly and adjust to others around us. People have different attitude, we might not all agree to all aspects yet we can work together if we know how to manage our attitude towards other,right?
