O my darling

O, the most beautiful girl in the neighbourhood.

O was a beautiful girl with a supple body. She was the only daughter of her mother. Her father was never around, she was brought up by a single mom.

O was like a spirit stuck into a form that would not hold her. Her spirit was either high or low. There was no in between with her.

Some said she was crazy and a flirt. The dull ones said that. They never understood O. She played and flirted with the boys, but except for instance when it came time to make out with O. She would somehow slip away, she eluded all the boys.

She was accused of misusing her beauty of not using her mind enough, but O had mind and spirit; when her friends were hurt either in flesh or in spirit, she felt a deep grieving for them. Her mind was simply different.

Girls around were jealous of her because she attracted the good looking boys and they were even more angry because they felt she didn't make the best use of them.

She had a habit of being kind to the uglier ones; the so called handsome boys revolted her - "No guts", she said, " no zap, they were riding on their perfect chins, well placed eyes and well shaped nostrils...all surface and no insides..."

We live in the same neighborhood. She simply liked me above all. I was probably the ugliest boy in town, and this might have something to do with it. O had chosen me and it was as simple as that.

She was not only the most beautiful girl in the neighbourhood, but the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
