We live in a world where often times those treated with respect and dignity are those who are wealthy or influential. What about the woman in the grocery shop or local market, the security guard, the bus driver or conductor, the garbage man and the automobile mechanic. They too deserve to be treated with dignity. Although some of them can be ill mannered and tempered you should be like the fruit tree as sometimes such attitude is borne out of frustration or not having the right mechanisms to cope with stress.
Some may think that these people are not important because of their financial status but have you ever imagined how our lives would be without their presence. Let me paint a picture for you, streets and apartments filled with garbage and endless walks for those without vehicles. This picture is just when the garbage man and the bus driver is missing. Just imagine if that entire complement of service providers were missing.
Funny enough we sometimes underrate some of them because of their dignified profession or their appearance but it may interest you to know that some of these individuals own their own homes while those they render services to still live in rented apartments. So who is actually better off. They chose the dignity of labour instead of a life of crime and vices.
So whenever the opportunity presents itself discuss with them like the people they are not just robots rendering you services. Ask them how their day is going and about their families. Say a kind word or a word of encouragement, you never know those few words of yours could just be what will make their day and encourage them to continue in their dignified path of struggle to make ends meet.
...and you will also help the author collect more tips.
Respect those who have good attitude and great personality not those who are wealthy or in authority. Weath or Power must not be the basis to respect a person, respect them according to their deeds and Personality.
