Inspirations: Life Without Limbs
You might wonder about the title, life without limbs is just something so painful to see or experience, and being disable is so negative to perceive in this world filled with competent and self-sufficient people. One would think, how can we pull off some inspiration from these people and from their situation?
However, at the back of my mind, I was reminded of this verse from the Bible that;
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. - 1 Corinthians 1: 27
People who can’t see will after all, tell stories with color and life, the deaf can inspire you just with their smile, and a paraplegic man like David Francisco from my previous article "Successful People with Disability" can indeed run and race life in his heart and mind.
They are people with disabilities, but they have inspiring stories to tell the world filled with able bodied men. And, they are strong, powerful and so capable of overwhelming anyone of us.
One person with a disability that has great influence in social media is Nick Vujicic. I was reminded of him when @DennMarc mentioned him from a comment in my previous article. Several years ago, when Nick got popular on Facebook and elsewhere, I have seen one of his talks about his previous struggles in life with the kind of disability he has. And, it’s amazing how great his enthusiasm towards life despite the lack he has physically.
Tonight, I went searching for him online and I’m so glad to come across his ministry “Life Without Limbs.” He has videos about his preachings and motivations on a YouTube channel NickVujicicTV. It’s astonishing to see that despite the fact that he literally has no limbs at all he was able to go around the world preaching the word of God and reaching the brokenhearted.
I watched the video “Selfies: Humility Looks Good,” and I love the message he shared that our limitations and differences, like his anomalies and disability, have nothing to do with our worth. Moreover, our hope is not here forever in our physical body, but rather in our spiritual being. No one is at fault that you’re born blind, or deaf, or no limbs, everything happens with a purpose, and that is for the grace of God to be shown in him (John 9:3).
Indeed, the strength, passion and willpower of these people with disabilities are something that will confuse, and amaze us as well. How do they live life so meaningful yet lacking in many ways? And, what did we do with all that we have yet we still have a life void of meaning?
How and who can fill that hole in your heart?
I hope you can check Nick Vujicic's YouTube channel and find inspiration from his videos.
Last Sunday, I have started an article showcasing Person's With Disabilities as part of the National Disability Prevention and Disability Week that we are currently celebrating this 3rd week of July. This article would be another installment of this, and I hope you won't get tired reading and keep getting inspired by their stories.
I just love this take away message I got from Nick that I would like to re-echo again with you...
Humility Looks Good In YOU!

I really love this guy, he inspires a lot of people despite his condition. He's a living testimony that all people are capable to live it's just how you handle it.
