Cultivating a Love for Writing in Children

For some people, writing is a very enjoyable hobby. Writing is part of the story of the journey of life that is shared with others. One of them is a dear child. In general, children can be trained to become a writer from an early age. The method of training children to write can be done by parents who want to train their children to become writers. One of the basics in writing is the ability to create interesting storylines and ideas.

Writing skills for children can be honed from an early age when children are fluent in speaking. Generally around the age of three parents can do this. The way of stimulation that can be done is not complicated. Parents can grow it through simple habits for training methods. Parents can try some of the ways that I will write about in this article to make their children enjoy writing.

This is a very big hope from parents because nowadays many children do not like to read. But with the following steps, I hope your child will enjoy writing more. You can modify this method in some creative ways for parents.

1. Modify the time to read fairy tales before going to bed.

   Parents can ask how their children think about each character in the fairy tale. Or ask the child to continue the fairy tale. The trick that can be done is, that parents must think openly. Give them a response or reward for the continued story or opinion that has been expressed. Although a follow-up story or the opinion given doesn't make sense. But no one will have thoughts outside the mind except children.

2. Using interesting pictures

   This method can be done through image media. Parents can offer pictures and ask children to arrange stories to form a plot. Ask your child to determine who the characters and characters are, the time setting in the story, why the problem has to occur, and a few others. The climax is when the conflict reaches the peak of the problem in the story.
   

3. Introduce storytelling

   When children can tell stories orally, parents can introduce the process of making story frames. In this case, parents can use a mind map which is a collection of ideas formed from keywords. The outline format can consist of a collection of words or pictures.
   

4. Reveal through video

   The development of increasingly sophisticated technology allows children to use video to express ideas. Both words and pictures are used as tools for children to understand the writing process better. This way of writing for children as a visualization method has also been widely used.
   

5. Introduce with auxiliary words

   The next way is to introduce auxiliary words that will form the core of a story. Parents can show synonyms or antonyms in sentences. In essence, parents are increasing the vocabulary of their children. This method is quite easy to do.
   

6. Limit the number of words

   When writing, parents can determine the number of words and sentences to learn to write. The purpose of limiting is to make children practice organizing stories without being long-winded. This method is done when the child can understand the problem of the story.
