Red Days or period is one of the things that a woman goes through. It's part of being a woman and there'll be no babies born without it. It might be every month, or every other month. It depends on the case of menstruation of a woman.
It's the most uncomfortable and tiring days of being a woman. She feels sore all over, constantly tired, abdominal pain or cramps, physical weakness, paleness, food cravings, bleeding, irritation, mood swings, vomiting, bloated and loss of appetite.
This is a blessing to the married couple who aren't yet planning to have a baby but it is like a monthly punishment to the single ladies.
Menstruation is normal, it's not as if it's a sin to have it. It's not something to be ashamed of. It's not yucky. It doesn't make sense for a man to feel disgusted about it. Don't make it look bad by not wanting to talk about it.
When a woman has menstruation, she can't do everything she can do when she doesn't have it. She can't workout, sleep with ease or even eat what she's been eating while she doesn't have menstruation. She becomes overly sensitive and she even has hormonal imbalance.
She might have acne breakout and constant irritation either to the people around her or to her surroundings. She might become too emotional and she often has mood swings. She might be happy then she becomes sad or angry. Even every single thing might cause her to cry. Her emotions are all over the place. She's like a ticking time bomb when she has menstruation. It's not that she chose to do those things because no one in their right mind will ever want to be irritated over simple things.
Her breasts feel sore. It's as if it doesn't fit to her undergarments. She often feels as if a prick of needle is in her breasts. A woman no matter how big or small her breasts are, has every right to feel the pain and express it. Every single part of her body becomes way too sensitive.
She curls up in a fetal position because of too much abdominal pain. When the room is air-conditioning she feels too cold while if the room is not well ventilated she feels too hot. Her body temperature can't adapt to the normal temperature her body desires when she doesn't have her period. She needs to use hot compress and drink pain reliever so she can sleep and rest well. Her head and her other body parts are equally painful. She might also bruise easily. She has to find a good position to sleep in and wake up as well.
She might also become anemic due to excessive blood flow. She has to buy sanitary napkins tampons, lots of underwear and night pad. She will wake with a blood stain on her bed covers and she'll feel constant discomfort while her menstruation is ongoing. It might last from three to seven days.
She might feel constant hunger or she might have no appetite at all. She might feel bloated and she can't wear light colored pants or jeans. She is worried for her clothes for she might have stained it without her knowing.
She might lose her strength because the pain is already way too tiring. She might have fatigue, and even if she wants to sleep the pain, she can't. It will constantly remind her that she is a woman. She'll feel exhausted and drained both physically and emotionally.
When the pain is too much she might experience vomiting or she can even have diarrhea. This is not just an act to get people's attention or sympathy, this is the real deal. The food she eats also has restrictions. She can't eat sour or spicy food as well as unhealthy food.
When a woman is stressed her menstruation is also affected. It can cause her to excrete blood clots or it might cause her menstruation to last longer.
To be honest there's no reason for a woman to feel shy when she buys her menstruation needs or for a man to feel disgusted about it. It's not a if she sins whenever she has to go to the grocery store to buy what she needs.
This might not be the case to all women out there but this is the reality of being a woman.
To be honest women are also having a hard time to understand themselves. It's not because they are born to be bipolar or neurotic patients, it's because they are also having a hard time expressing themselves.
Women needs emotional and physical support whenever she goes through this painful days every month. When she asks for food it's not because she wants you to use your money on her. She has her own money to sustain her needs. Men should not feel shy buying women sanitary napkins or tampons. It doesn't make you less of a man doing it.
Women are strong but they also have weak moments just like during her red days. She might argue with you a lot but it's not as if she wanted to. Her hormones speak for her. She needs your love and support, not your scolding and definitely not your lame excuses. She has already gone through too much pain. Don't add to it. She needs your patience and understanding not your constant arguing and trying to prove your point.
Women are not 'just' women. Women are women and they have fought a lot of battles way too many to mention.
