The Kind of "Pinagtagpo pero di Tinadhana" in Literature Stories *"Pinagtagpo pero di tinadhana"* is the filipino term for '*you had met but not destined*', or '*you had been together but not meant to be together forever'.* *I had read a lot of fictional and real life stories here which end with break-up or losing someone. We do feel sad on how the story goes, but bear in mind that the flow of the story depends on the author, how he/she wants to make it more meaningful.* *In literature, there are also various authors who made a story in sad or tragic ending, one example is William Shakespeare. Last year I have read these 3 stories from different author which give a sad impact after I read, so for now gonna give you the summary of those.* ________________________ The Cactus by O. Henry The story was about the main character, Trysdale. One of the main theme of the story is egoism; based on the way how Trysdale think and he show love to the girl*(no name mentioned in the story)*. So, he has this girl which adores him like a god. He was only accepting all the love and adoration without giving an exchange. He used to treat himself special, and only loved the girl on how "she" adores him. Trysdale was so proud of himself and told the girl that he knows everything even Spanish language. One day, he asked a marriage proposal to the girl. The girl told him that she will answer his proposal on the next day. So in the next day, the girl didn't arrive but only send him a cactus in the red earthen jar with a tag.
Trysdale feel bad about it, thinking what's wrong with the girl. After two days he have a chance to talk to the girl but he didn't say anything, as his anger controlled him. Last one. Come on. Wedding ceremony and a heart broken situation is really tough to handle.
It is, all she need to do is to accept the reality that it is done.
The last one is a messed one ,hesitation love ahh. the first kind of made me laugh and feel sad also . The way William wrote these I really respect his work . Even a summary of his story is enough to make you cry . Then what if you read the story will do!
Yeah, a sad ending. I don't know why authors like to share sad endings haha
Gyud Sis, tungod ras culture nila.
*Paita Ana na sitwasyon sis. Tungod sa culture need nila magbulag*
I like the story of cactus, ventomarme, (come and take me) char, hehe.
Bigyan mo ng cactus bet mo Sis hahha
Whahaah, wala pai nakita sis, ahehe
Good story but a mix of characters for me don't mind. I really get confused when there's a lot of characters in a novel but in determination to finish the book I start I read it again and again unless i get to know each character differently.
I understand, I sometimes feel the same especially when the names that they use are not familiar with you. In my case, I get a paper then write thier name and description.
Aha! A quite interesting thing you do.
About my opinion, the last story is more sad and heart broken. It's so hard to face this kind of situation. If It's happen with me maybe I will be no more in this world. May Allah don't do it with me.
Amen. And for sure your wife will kill you if you leave her haha
Yeah you are right haha
Yung the Wedding dance nireport ko siya last sem sis hahah. Ang sakit talaga nung story ma yun kase mahal pa talaga nila isa't isa but they need to follow their customs and traditions.
I feel sad for the third story as I can feel that they both love each other but because of traditions and beliefs they had to be apart.
Sobrang sakit nun. Parang tinutulak mo nalang sarili mo dahil wala kang choice.
Ganon nga talaga Sis, no choice sila.
Ouchie. That was kind of sad naman :(
Sobra Sis, tanggapin nalang ang katutuhanan:D
The third story really got my attention I felt so sad
I observed that almost everyone got hurt on this story's ending.
I don't like sad stories I prefer stories of fantasy and imagination with happy endings. Life already has the whole sadness theme covered especially now in times of war.
Even me Sis, because after reading I will carry the pain whole day
I love the story of The Wedding Dance sis kahit malungkot siya. Natackle namin yan noon sa college. Napakagandang story yan.
These stories are true face of our society and cultural, traditional and social values. The second story about Alfredo , Julia & Esperanza is real face of duality of some individual men to trap in relationship.
To the title itself bff, sakit kaayo pamalandungon.
The wedding dance is the one that saddens me the most. It is very sad that they leave a woman for not being able to have a child since it is not her fault. I did not know any of these books I am going to look for them to read them although you already made a "spoiler" hahaha... Happy day friend.
My dear friend, I was very upset to read the last story. That old traditional and fanatical beliefs ruined many loves in this way.
I love all the stories especially that of O. Henry Cactus. It a beautiful love story. Shakespeare stories are sometimes tragic, the likes of Hamlet and the rest.
I think the last one is able to bring the sadness in high level. But I am amazed with the first ones technique . Well, I think I should also read sometimes the stories.
Hmmm, I'm not familiar sa mga to ha. Pero all of them are interesting 🤔. Kaso english huehue maganda sana basahin ng buo.
I like all the stories very much but the love story was so beautiful of o.Henry Cactus
They were all sad :( I know how it feels to have a totga..You met, felt something wonderful but were never meant to be. Oucch..
I would like to think that the first one turned out a happy in the end. When the guy learned about the meaning of the cactus and he pursued the girl :) Sometimes we have to say our true intentions :)
I have never heard these stories ever in my life.. Maybe write an elaboration on each story sis? They sound interestin
