Quick escape from City Life.
Hello everyone, I am back! I was inactive yesterday as I decided to disconnect with social media and even with everyone. I just want to somehow find peace and enjoy it for a while. So my friends and I decided to go glamping into the nearest camping site here in the city. With no internet or data connection and even cellular signal. Just nature and going back to basic life before gadgets were invented.
My friends had been planning this last summer but due to the sudden surge again of Covid-19 because of Delta variant it was postponed. Glad we were able to color our drawings and finally make it happen. We decided to book at Gabriel's Sanctuary at Antipolo Rizal. If you are staying in NCR, I think Rizal is the nearest place to have an adventure which is related with nature.
Good thing one of our officemates who sideline in rent a car offers his service. At least we are confident and at felt safe as we know our driver.
It took hours before we reached our destination and since it rained the previous night the road was slippery. It was a rough road. Glad our officemate volunteered to help us bring some of our things into the camping site. I guess it is more than half a kilometer walk going in there and it was assault. We all didn't have any physical activities so we were all catching our breath! Hahaha, that's our price of sitting all day plus spending our free time on our gadgets.
The Camp site.
After the registration, we decided to eat our breakfast first since we almost ran out of energy. We bought usual Filipino breakfast with daing and tuyo and prepared a boodle fight. Who says we need utensils to eat? ( We were sure that were Covid free). Sometimes eating with our hands is also great. Who hasn't tried?
I was surprised when I saw they bought a lot of rice! Good thing we had a male companion or else I am not sure if we can eat it all. I even joke with them that I will be the one to eat all the okra (lady fingers) as long as they won't let me eat dried fish. Thank God they allow me.
After we are all full, we set up our tent. There are actually some kubo (country houses) but one of my friends wants to stay in a tent as she hasn't experienced it.
Going to the falls.
One of the tourist attractions here was the falls which is 20minutes walk away. Tour guide is required but not that expensive. Well it's up to you if you wanna give an extra tip. Trail is not that hard, well maybe for me since I grew up in the countryside. For me it was just normal though I also felt tired because of lack of physical activities.
When we reached our destination, I was slightly dismayed as I was really expecting a waterfall but no, it looks like a stream to me. Opss, my bad! The water depth per level was different, from 3ft , 5ft and to unmeasurable. So we chose the 5ft since we were all not good at swimming. Going up to the bathing area was hard. It is because as I mentioned it rained the previous night. The creek is slippery and even the stones. Two of my companions are having a hard time since they both grew up in the city. Aside from that there were a little bit chubbier than me, one of them almost fell . Thanks God the tour guide was quick, she almost gave me a heart attack as I was watching while waiting for them.
We did enjoy having a dip in a freshwater but were unable to stay for a long time as it was so cold! Plus it was so windy that made us shiver!
We still had some activities after but maybe I will be sharing it with you all by tomorrow. I was still sleepy and tired plus you might get tired of reading.
Closing thoughts.
I actually enjoyed our stay all throughout since there was no disturbance even a phone call. I even fall asleep while lying outside. It also feels like home as there are some chickens and even dogs running around the place. I felt so refreshed!
Sounds good,City life might be interested but in natura life or hills mountain or village life is almost amazing we feel good there and performs a good meaningful life there, you enjoyed a lot by passing these days
