So now, I am going to share to you some ways and tips in order to cope with stress. We cannot live a stress free life but we can find ways to cope up with this and lessen it as much as we can.
Listen to Your Favorite Music
What are your favorite music? Listen to it everytime you are tired or helpless. Try to take a breath and take a pause and listen to your favourite songs. Playing calm music has a positive effect on the brain and body, can lower blood pressure, and reduce cortisol, a hormone linked to stress.
Talk Out With a Friend
Sharing your burden and problems to someone will lessen the overwhelming burden you are feeling. Good relationships with friends and loved ones are important to any healthy lifestyle. They’re especially important when you’re under a lot of stress. A reassuring voice, even for a minute, can put everything in perspective. Having someone who listens and understand to your situation will make you feel you are not battling it alone.
Eat Properly
Some people when they are stressed, they lose their appetite and some also indulge in overeating. These two things are a bad habit caused by stress that you stop. Stress levels and a proper diet are closely related. When we’re overwhelmed, we often forget to eat well and resort to using sugary, fatty snack foods as a pick-me-up.
Laugh Sometimes
I am not trying to say that you should laugh even when you are alone, of course not!
Laughter releases endorphins that improve mood and decrease levels of the stress-causing hormones cortisol and adrenaline. Laughing tricks your nervous system into making you happy. Laugh with your friends and family and have some good time together.
Don't Forget to Exercise
When you are stressed, you forgot to exercise and immediately fall asleep as soon as you are next to the bed. Exercise doesn’t necessarily mean power lifting at the gym or training for a marathon. A short walk around the office or simply standing up to stretch during a break at work can offer immediate relief in a stressful situation. Exercising a little and moving some of your body will lessen the amount of stress.
Don't Forget to Sleep Properly
One factor triggering the stress is by not sleeping properly. Everyone knows stress can cause you to lose sleep. Unfortunately, lack of sleep is also a key cause of stress. This vicious cycle causes the brain and body to get out of whack and only gets worse with time. Our body needs to recharge to have energy for the next day so do not ignore your proper sleeping time.
Other stress reliever techniques
Meditation- take some time to meditate in a calm place where your mind is peaceful. When you're focused on the here-and-now, you won't be able to ruminate about something that already happened and you can't worry about something in the future. Meditation and mindfulness take practice, but it can make a big difference in your overall stress level.
Get a Hug- When you hug someone, oxytocin (also known as the "cuddle hormone") is released. Oxytocin is associated with higher levels of happiness and lower levels of stress. Oxytocin also causes a reduction in blood pressure. It reduces the stress hormone norepinephrine and can produce a sense of relaxation. Get some hug from the people who matter the most to you.
Try aromatherapy- Aromatherapy has real benefits for stress relief it can help you to feel energized, more relaxed, or more present in the moment. Emerging research suggests certain scents can alter brain wave activity and decrease stress hormones in the body.
For stress, i just usually go draw something because that's what calms me down the most these days
