Seeing a lot of people who always smile is priceless, they said that happiness is always what we need in our life to live with serenity and tranquility. In fact, they said that a happy person or a person who always smile lives longer than a person who always sad. However, being happy is not easy as what you think. It is not simple.
According to psychology, a single sad thought can change your mood in a whole day. When you are sad, it's hard to be happy again because of what-we-so-called “overthinking.”
Key points:
You are not contented on the things that you have.
You are comparing yourself to other people.
You are expecting too much on things.
You love competition.
You are overthinking.
These key points will guide you in this whole piece of work.
You are not contented on the things that you have
This is a common problem to every individual especially teenagers who always follow the trend. They are doing the things that they want especially if other people—or their friends—are doing the same. To the point that they are forcing themselves or even their parents to buy what they want even they don't have an enough money to provide it.
To make this list unbiased, some adults also doing the same. They tend to copy and do the same thing of what their neighbors did, what their neighbors bought, what their neighbors said. They are not contented on what they want and the like following the trend so the people will look up on them.
We have this famous proverbs in the Philippines which is, “Kapag maikli ang kumot, matutong mamaluktot.” this is a bulls eye on the people who love to pretend that they are rich, it's free to dream but you can do it in a wisest way! Don't pretend, it's better if you will be yourself and strive hard to get what you want.
Thus, the only thing that we can do to solve this issue is to be contented and don't put much pressure to yourself, don't set a high standard to yourself because it will not have a good outcome. Strive hard and you will be there!
You are comparing yourself to other people
This is like a brother of not being contented, people who always compare themselves is a product of not being contented. They love comparing themselves because other person achieved something that he didn't. They are comparing themselves because his friend got a higher score compared to what he got. Ending, you will be sad.
Come to think of it and ask yourself, why he achieved it but I didn't? Did you do your best? There is only two answers in this question:
If no, then it is probably the reason!
If yes, it happened for a reason.
They said “Kung hindi ukol, hindi bubukol” if something is not for you, it will never be yours! Don't force and pressure yourself, do it slowly but surely!
You are expecting too much on things
I think mosr of us already hope for someone who gave us false hope, I have this motto, “Don't make a conclusion without confirmation” it is easy to assume but the aftermath is the most difficult to surpass.
You will ended up in regrets if you expect too much on things but the result is opposite of what you are expecting, it is frustrating and annoying. Well, you are the one who was in fault.
Concluding without a single confirmation and assurance will make you embarrassed, annoyed and sad in a single snap. This is why you need to learn how to accept the facts, you probably heard this: “Truth hurts!”.
You love competition
Are you one of the students who always want to get the highest grade and feel like a sin when you are the second? Better to think and forget this toxic behavior, don't be grade conscious! This competition commonly happened in school and working areas to get their desired position/rank.
Let me tell you, being a competitive person is good—but not all the times. If you didn't manage yourself, you will ended up in being sad and worst, depressed. At some point, it is good (in my opinion)
because you can achieve your goal by doing your best of the best but once you reached the line, better to control your emotion and let the others win.
In the movie entitled “3 Idiots”, Rancho once said, “Life is not a race...” don't create a competition that doesn't exist because the competition on your mind has only two teams: you and yourself.
You are overthinking
There's a lot of people who died because of suicide. It is undeniably true that one of the main reasons of being a suicidal is depression. This depression is a product of your ability which is overthinking.
It happens when a person have a lot of stuffs on their plates to the point that they don't know which thing is the most important—the one that they need to do on the list. As what we have said on the introductory statement, a single thought of something sad can change your mood in a whole day. So, better to think positively and don't let your emotion drive you!
It's hard not to overthink, I knew it. But once you experience it, think about yourself. Is it good? Is there any advantage if I am overthinking? I have this own motto, “Don't think your problems, think about the solution.”
Conclusion
In this world that full of sadness, be one of the person who spread the opposite of the trend, spread good news and good vibes. Be an instrument to bring a smile on everyone's faces.
Being sad is normal, we are all humans after all. But don't let yourself eaten by this kind of darkness because you are torturing yourself. In times of negative situation, learn to smile, be unique and happy!

Why do I got all these things that make me unhappy? I feel like I'm the loneliest at this time. Especially the comparing. I tend to compare myself to others who I think are better than me. As a result, I'm not contented with what I have and I keep on searching for the things I don't have.
