Thankfulness is the key that can help dispel depression. Think of some of the happiest people whom you know. You would notice that these people are also thankful people.

Look around you and enumerate the people, things and circumstances you want to thank God or other people for. Should you be thankful for good things only and forget the bad things or misfortunes? How can you be thankful for pains, difficulties and troubles?

We should have a Grateful Heart first.

We must be contented for what we have. Contentment is the attitude cultivated by consistent consideration of God's daily provisions to us. With a content heart, we can be thankful. It will be easy and natural to thank God for all the troubles and triumph we are experiencing, and for all the people who give us joy and sorrows.

We must stop complaining. An Indian proverb says, "I complained because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet." When misfortunes come, it is natural to complain. Yet, these are the moments we are challenged to be thankful. Commit this proverb to memory and reflect on it every time you feel like complaining and comparing your situation with others.

We must develop an attitude of gratitude. It may sound ridiculous but we have to be thankful in all situations. Start being thankful for the little things, then branch out. Turn this into a habit. Once it is a habit and placed in the heart, thankfulness will come out naturally in both good and bad situations. Hence, life experiences in every way will be better.

We must express our thanks. Make it a practice to send small thank you notes or cards to the people who have done you a good deed or even to people who have not. When you do this, you learn to look for the good in people and are able to appreciate them more.

We must Savor the good moments. If you notice you’re feeling happy, stop what you’re doing and pay attention for a few minutes.

We must Change our perspectiveIf you struggle to come up with something to feel grateful for, put yourself in the shoes of someone who is experiencing misfortunes greater than your own. Recalling a colleague who has a debilitating physical condition, for example, will inspire gratitude for your own healthy body, which you may have taken for granted otherwise.

We must look at the bright side of life. Do you live in a house that lacks space and furniture? Then, thank God because you still have a shelter from the rain.

Oftentimes,we take for granted the little blessings and comforts we enjoy. There are many more small pleasures and blessings we should thankful.

It’s truly difficult to feel grateful when times are really tough or when very depressed....But;

If we Practice gratitude. Recognizing and appreciating the good aspects of our life, no matter how small, can have a tremendous impact on our emotional wellbeing. How you decide to practice gratitude is up to you—maybe you’ll choose to jot down your blessings in a notebook, thank a friend face-to-face, or simply sit in quiet reflection to contemplate all the good in your life.

Let's Be kind. Helping others has been scientifically proven to boost your own mood and lengthen your lifespan.

We must Connect with others. Warm, trusted relationships are an essential component of emotional wellbeing. Strong social ties can boost confidence and self-esteem, as well as provide a psychological buffer against stress, depression and anxiety.

Enhance your wellbeing with nature. The environment can play a big role in triggering or soothing stress, and researchers say the more green in your life, the better you'll feel. Studies show that people who spend more time outdoors (or have access to green plants and windows in their indoor environment) have better moods, expanded thinking, and find more meaning in life than those who stay cooped up inside.

Being Grateful will make you happier and more successful because this feeling empowers you. This means that the feeling of gratefulness can only be generated by the outside world. So, if you want to be grateful, you need something outside yourself, and you cannot generate this feeling on your own. It simply means grateful always need someone else.

I am grateful for the love, care, and continuous support I receive from my family and friends. It is hard to find real friends, so if you have one, be grateful.

Many thanks again for reading.

Lovelots ❤️
