African Culture

Africa is home to the first and the oldest human population on earth and they are also the most genetically diverse population on earth. Africa is culturally diverse with 3000 indigenous tribes, 2000 languages and over 2000 dialets of those African languages.

The culture in Africa is varied and in manifold consisting of a mixture of countries with various tribes that each have their own unique characteristic from the continent of Africa. African culture is expressed in its arts and crafts, folklore and religion, clothing, music and language.

African values include large family practice, hard work, respect for senior members of the society, religion, property, language and many others. African tradition is expressed through many different art forms, such as music, dance, art, sculpture and bead work. These traditions are deeply planted into the whole African culture. The culture of a people is what marks them out distinctively from other human societies. Culture, as it is usually understood entails traits and characters that are peculiar to people tp the extent that it marks them out from other people and society. This peculiar traits include their mode of dressing, their language an their beliefs and value one will fully recognize an ibo person just mere speaking or their mode of dressing , you will fully recognize a Yoruba man or an hausa man. Values in African culture are understood as beliefs that are held about what is right and wrong and what is impotant in life.

Culture refers to the totality of the pattern of behavior of a particular group of people. It includes everything that makes them distinct from others for instance their greeting habits, foods, songs, taboos, rites and social norm. Every individual who grows up in a particular society is likely to become incuilcate with the culture of that society, whether knowingly or unknowingly during the process of social interaction.

We have a lot of values that are practiced in African culture we have the; social values, religious values moral values, political values and economic values. African culture just has so many values they believe I for instance in Ibibio ukang (ordeal) is a very popular method of crime detention, African culture has a moral code that forbids doing harm to a relative.

In African culture it is believed that it is not good to whistle at night because it calls for snakes. African culture is very rich and diverse in nature. African culture is very unique . Africa is inhabited by various ethnic nationalities.
