It's Hard to be a Good Student
I can say that school life is the best part of us. It's a phase wherein we can make new friends, learn new things, adapt to different knowledge, experience to fail, achieve success, and most importantly build ourselves to our future careers. It's a stepping stone for us to be able to finish what we've started and to reach our dreamed finish line.
Image Source: Pinterest As a learner, we want to study hard because we all have the same objectives...and that is to have a decent job to build a better future. That's why we're doing our very best to be a good students. In that way, we can guarantee that our sacrifices are all worth it until the end. Completing assignments on time, putting maximum effort into doing activities and projects, spending time to study for upcoming quizzes and tests, and improving our weaknesses are some of the qualities of a good learner. However, in my experience, I can say that it's so exhausting to be a **good student.** Why I said so?? **Reason#1—Good students typically wanted to maintain good grades** I believe in the saying that ***"Grades doesn't define you as a person but it defines what kind of student you are."*** Who wouldn't like to have good grades to make yourself and your families proud? Who would like to have failing grades? Getting high grades is an achievement but to get that, we need to study hard and make some sacrifices. To be honest with you, when I was in elementary I'm not serious about my studies. I have failing grades like 75, 76, and 77, I don't usually care about that because I thought that it's just a number... but when I stepped into high school? I realized that I should take my studies seriously because I can use them to enter my dream university and apply for scholarships. See the importance of having a good set of grades?? **Reason#2—Good students often received expectations** Being a good student has cons and one of that is what you called **"Expectations"** When you start to take your studies seriously and you aimed to get good grades? Some people will start to expect something from you. It's like they expect you to get that kind of high grades every time, that you should belong to honors every quarter, or perhaps you should be the one to be on top. I'm very thankful that my parents, friends, and relatives are not that type of people. They said that ***with honors or not as long as I did my best that's enough.*** **Reason#3—Good students prioritize studies rather than anything else** When I said prioritize, what I mean is studies are on the top of their lists. They intend to do their priority works rather than do the least important things. This is the reason why good students can excel in academics. It's a good thing that we prioritize our studies but always remember to enjoy while doing this thing. It's much better if we can take a break sometime after stressing ourselves about learning. Let's manage our time from studying and make space for creating friends and bonding. It's hard to be a good student because you may experience a lot of things. Stress, lack of sleep, too much pressure, etc. We all have reasons why we keep striving and those reasons are what fuels us to continue despite everything.

It is true that while you can learn a lot in school, that doesn't set your future. It is still up to you. I have had classmates who weren't that "good" in class back then but they are the ones doing far better than others. Remember Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg? While they did not graduate college, they have made a name for themselves. Whether you have good grades, graduated college or not, it's still up to you how to make it in life.
I totally agreed on that 😊 I always believe that finishing college doesn't guarantee that you will be able to have a good future, it's up to ourselves because just like what you've said I encountered individuals who are more successful than other people who finished their studies. Ako nga mula High Scho till College walang paki sa grade ko ee. Buti nalang din di ako pinipressure cooker ng nanay ko. Basta sakin, basta nakapasa okie na yan. Talang ung kasabayan ko, lahat ng extracurricular pinapatos. Kamusta naman akong hayahay lang ang buhay 🤧🙈. Tamad na kasi ako noon pa ee. Ahaha, tapos, graduate na ako ng College wala din namang trabaho, buti talaga di ako nag aral ng wagas noon. Ahaha pero, pinag sisisihan ko naman yan ee. Yang di pag aaral ng ayos. Ayt basta. Wag nyo sanang ilaaan lahat sa pag aaral. Mag tira kayo ng time for other things. Wag masyadong grade conscious. Di naman masamang mag wala minsan.
Yeess! Walwal din minsan AHAHAH Kaya talaga pag may gala ang tropaa go lang ako eh. Gusto ko kasi magunwind saka magenjoy even just for a while. Malaking tulong na rin yon, ayaw ko naman na subsob nako sa pagaaral just to get high grades. Ansakit kaya sa brain cells
Tama lang yan, pagbigyan ang self sa kung anong gusto. Bumabawi ka naman after diba.
Nong High School ako, wala akong pake sa grades ko tsaka Honors. Hindi din ako nakikinig sa mga expect expect ng mga parents ko at compare nila na buti pa si ganto, ganyan. Kasi hindi ko naman aanhin yung medalya kasi makakalawang lang ang pinaka importante naman sa lahat ay iyong nakapasa ka. Na makakagraduate ka padin at may natututunan ka. Hindi ako yung studyante na nakikibaka sa mga high honors or tops. Basta cool lang ako. Mahirap kasi yung mga kilala ka lang kapag may honors ka, at walang pinagkaiba yung an laki ng expectation ng parents mo sayo kahit gawin at gawin mo lahat, di sila makokontento. Mahirap yan eh, kaya ako, ineenjoy ko lang buhay ko nung High school ako. Tignan mo ako, HAHAHA kahit na minsan nung senior high ako eh bulakbol, gala, scape, ganorn ginagawa ko, nakapasa parin ako. Naka graduate at with Honors lol. HAHA Kaya wag kayo masyadong seryoso sa buhay, minsan lang tayo maging bata kaya sulitin na natin hanggat maaga pa. Wag natin kakalimutang magsaya 🥲
Yiieee congratss naman! Ayan din reminder ko for myself. I must enjoy habang nagaaral. Hindi ko need ipush ng ipush ang sarili ko maging ipressure ng bongga. Kasi kung dun lang ako magfofocus? Parang nawawala yung tunay na happiness eh, that's why kailangan i balance
I am not a good student pala haha but there are some points in my school life that I keep on maintaining my grades not for their expectations but it is for my scholarship allowance even now that I am a college student which is a harder step for the future hehe (sayang bhie ang $300-$400 per sem uy hhashs) . Oh well, I was once prioritizing my studies because even though I am not that smarty, I still hate seeing low grades on my report card like srsly? Why does it even matter when they are not proud of me at all? Maybe just to be proud of myself that I still made it while being a working student. It's a great achievement! Skskskskks And it will also shape us on how can we be more disciplined in the future work or job. And yes, I agree with those expectations, but I just can't meet their expectations ang taas kasi grabe mataas pa sa pride ko (just good enough to be noticed that I am not that dumb at all sjskskslak) Inuuna ko pa din, wattpad at Kdrama bago ako mag review at now, read.cash and noise.cash before anything else.😂😂😂 Saka karamihan sa mga tamad-tamadan eh wala naman talagang napapala sa future, I mean may mga mataas grade kasi nangongopya lang naman tapos proud na proud na pa (eewss hahaha) saka meron naman na kahit mababa ang grades maybe may mga reasons why diyan eh, baka busy like a working student, may family prob or happy go lucky lang pero madiskarte sa life. Saka yung mga inborn na talaga utak haha (sana all diba) **Saka alam mo why it is so hard to be a good student?** - kopyahan ng notes ng mga tamad magsulat - kopyahan ng sagot sa assignments - lagi nahihingian ng papel kasi usually good student is always a girl/boy scout in everything - good student laging may water - good student lagi nauutusan ng mga teachers - good students tends to missed the opportunity to experience cutting classes - missed to experience being STRESS-FREE - Mahilig makibaka haha (ano ito? Para sa ekonomiya?) Madammi pa sana ako sasabihin kaso tinatamad na ako mag type hahsksksksa
Totoo yan, alam mo ba lately may nakikita akong post sa feed ko na kesyo daw dapat nagseryoso sila nung high school, di daw dapat puro walwal, gala at inom ang ginawa at dapat daw na sinikap nila na makakuha ng mataas na marka. kase ngayong magcocollege na nahihirapan na daw sila maghanap ng universities or colleges na papasukan pati na rin makapagaapply sa scholarships. Biruin mo ang CHED ngayon tinaasan ang standards nila para sa magaaply na scholars, so kung hindi kataasan grade mo, mataas ang tyansa na di ka makapasok. That's why talaga mas pinipili ng iba na maging good student rather than magsisi sa huli.
