Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls; This place is often referred to as the sanctuary of beauty and purity. It is also called or known as Olumirin (which means "another diety") Waterfalls, this is a great tourist center located at the Southwest of Nigeria, in Osun State to be precise and it's just 2km away from the town. Which means it's located in the Yoruba land, one of the major ethnic group in Nigeria, and it was said to be have been discovered in 1140AD and it was named the Olumirin back then that it was said to have appearance of a mysterious figure.
Gurara Falls; This according to chart is the second famous waterfall and tourist center in Nigeria, which is located in Niger State, and which is very close to the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. You will enjoy a lot of things there which includes picnic, swimming, and do bird watching, interesting right?. The falls was discovered in 1745AD by an hunter, and it was named after two gods who were once worshipped by the villagers and their names were; Gura and Rara. The falls sits between Suleja and Minna in Niger State as said earlier and spans about 300meters and have drops of 50 meters. Mind you it's safest to swim in this fall during the dry season when the water would be clean and calm.
Farin Ruwa Waterfalls; This is another waterfall located in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria and has its source on the Jos Plateau. The fall has a spectacular sights and and it's one of the tallest Waterfalls in Nigeria, the waterfall is surrounded by thick forest making it an haven for eco system. The farin Ruwa by name means "the white water" the name originated from the appearance of the gushing water. Mind you the best time to visit this fall is between April and September, that's when there is most water in the river which makes the waterfall appear in it's beauty.
The Arinta Waterfalls; This water fall is located at Ipole Iloro in Ekiti State, Nigeria. It's a popular site that attracts both the local and foreign tourist to the place, and it's an ever wet and ever flowing waterfall. The waterfall is very close to the ikogosi spring like 10-15 minutes drive from and to each other. It's a beautiful place to behold, from the rocky hills to the natural forest vegetation to a form of flowing swimming pool. The place is ideal for relaxation, picnics, climbing, bush trails, hiking and religious retreats.
Assop Waterfalls: This is a beautiful waterfall located at Jos, Plateau State. Plateau State is perhaps one of the most blessed in the middle belt country Nigeria, the assop river supplies which people use and it feeds the natural vegetation that extend to the forest. The Plateau State is blessed with abundant relaxation sites and it's home to many Waterfalls and the most notable one among them is the Assop Waterfalls. It's a place for picnicking, swimming and relaxation
Obudu Waterfalls; This waterfall is located at Cross River State, in Calabar close to the Cameroon border, it's situation in the obudu ranch and it has in recent times seen an influx of people or tourist from both local and international because of the fast paced development of the tourist center, and this has turned the place to a well known resort center in the country.
Owu Water falls: This is a beautiful waterfall located at Isin local government in kwara state. It's actually the highest waterfall in West Africa with a rocky crops to a pool of iced cold water in it which offers the tourist and visitors a refreshing atmosphere and a good time spent. This fall is always the best during the rainy season and offers one of the best side attractions of quality accomodations and good restaurant. The waterfall denotes the symbol of nature which the existence of discovery is untraceable, but can only be appreciated. The owu waterfall can be described as the "wonder in the wilderness" because of its height which is fascinating to watch as the water drops. It's a great place also for vacation, recreation, relaxation.
