Tale of the Lizard; A mother's sacrifice.

...and slowly his body stiffened and unable to move, he shrank so small and grow four legs and a tail. As the 6th hour came he hurriedly came down and kiss the ground with tears.

Darius approaches his parent's bedroom and silently opens the door. He tiptoed while walking towards his sleeping mother. He stood for a while next to his mother and tears came down from his eyes. "Mother I'm so sorry." He muttered. And in an instant struck his mother's chest by the knife and reap out her heart. To his surprise, his mother holds his hands before he could get away with the heart saying " I am happily giving you my heart my dearest son, and I pray for your happiness with the girl you choose in exchange for my heart." And then his mother's hand sagged from holding him with her last breath.

With trembled hand, Darius holds her mother's heart with the blood spilling from it. He cried out loud. "What have I done? Mother forgive me, please forgive me." He sobs. He hurriedly went to Corazon's house with his two hands holding his mother's heart, smiling, laughing, and crying while walking down the road.

Darius called out for Corazon from outside holding up the heart. He was almost bathed with blood all over. Corazon looks out from the window and seems to ask what brings Darius that early when she suddenly cried out loud because of what she saw.

"Your wish is here Corazon, it's my mother's heart for you." He said like a mad man. He knelt as if offering the heart to a goddess.

Corazon began to tremble, she doesn't know what to say. Her hyperbole statement was taken by Darius literally. All she wants was his mother's apple from their backyard. Because it's the sweetest apple in the village and it only bears a few fruits in a year. She was going crazy about what Darius had done.

"Darius it's not your mother's literal heart that I want, it's your mother's apple is all I want." Corazon's replied hysterically. "I-I can't believe what have you done, you foolish." She shouted.

Because of the commotion, the family of Corazon and some of the neighbor's awaken. And out of fear Darius hurriedly ran home still carrying his mother's heart. At home, his father was grieving hysterically holding his mother's lifeless body. And upon seeing him, he stops and laid down his wife's body to the floor and walks towards Darius fiercely.

Darius immediately knelt sobbing. His body was shaking, tears all over his face, and can't utter even a single word aside from I'm so sorry.

His father punches him and knocks him to the floor. Darius held his mother's heart to his chest crying. He embraces every pain from his father's fury. He can't blame him. He wishes to be killed by his father right at that moment.

Suddenly his father grabs him from his neck, he can see the rage of fire in his father's eyes.

"Why Darius, why?" Roars his father. "We already give you anything Son, but why you did do this to your mother? Why?" And knocks him once again in the face.

Darius can't speak out of shame. All he wanted was to die with his mother. He kept on holding to his mother's heart while laying down on the floor. Suddenly, his father grabs him from behind and lets him sit pinning on the wall. He heard his father uttering foreign words to his ear. It was a curse. A forever punishment for the crime he did and he will suffer endlessly.

That was tragic, a very foolish move. Anyway, that was just a story passed by the elders to us.

To this, we learn to use our heads in dealing with circumstances, not just by the outer appearance but by inner meaning should be the one to see. Head over emotion as they say although sometimes it's hard to do so.
