Goodday guys, I'm really happy to write again on this great platform. I hope you have been enjoying my previous posts and this one won't be an exemption at all. Today's topic is about something that we must pass through as human beings. My prayer is that you should read and be blessed by it and hopefully praticalise it to the Glory of God. Let's start. Focus!

Nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary education are phases of life that we will all pass through or have already passed through. Now, the question is, during our period of education did we compromise our faith in order to get good grades? Did we get involved in examination malpractice? Did we pay our teachers or lecturers for good grades? Did we get involved in sexual immorality because of good grades or money to pay fees?

Nevertheless, in this article, I'll be explain some tips that could help succeed academically without Compromising our faith in God. These are;

  1. Putting God first:

As Christians, we shouldn't forget easily that God should come first in any journey that we embark on. Education is a journey on its own that requires goods favour and strength to push us through. His presence is needed for divine direction and protection in any journey we are on. So, in the start of every academic year in school, we should learn to surrender that academic year to God. This indeed will create and pave way for God intervention in that academic session and hence making it easy for your success to be achieved.

  1. Communicate with your predecessors:

In this area, I have been a witness. Whenever, a new academic session starts, always try to meet your predecessors so that they can explain to you in details how they succeeded in all their courses. This will give you wisdom on how to approach every course during the academic session. We all know that all courses can't be approached in the same way and knowing the way or manner to approach them will give your an edge over others in your class. Not only knowing the way of approach but knowing it very early so as to apply it too early. These predecessors could also tell you what each lecturers want from you in their examination. Some lecturers prefer short answers which is straight to the point while some prefer very long and we'll explained answers. These differences, you can easily know you meet your predecessors, God can use them to feed you with wisdom.

  1. Study plan:

This is one area that students fail to do and even though they do, most of them still fail to follow it up. Do we plan as students? Or do we follow other people's plan? As Christian students, we need to have a time for planning. If we don't plan, then we plan to fail. That is just the short truth! We need to have a study plan, this will guide us, so that we could be ahead in class. A good study plan makes a student to be organized. It helps you to even prepare early for tests, quizzes and examinations thereby preventing you from getting involved in examination malpractice which is a sin. So, PLAN!

  1. Friends you keep:

    There is saying that says '..show me your friend and I will tell you who you are..'. this means that one can use your friends to describe or estimate your personality. As students, you will surely have friends. It's either you go to them or they come to you.

    But the question is what type of friends do you keep while in school? Peer pressure or peer influence is real and it's one of the fastest way to influence a student. A student who initially doesn't have the courage to cheat during an examination may likely summon courage to get involved in that illegal act as a result of peer pressure/influence from his or her friends. So, what am I saying? Choose your friends wisely!!!! Bad friends could make you miss God's favour in your academics by influencing you into doing illegal things just to succeed in school. So keep them off from you !!!

  1. 5. Apply for scholarships:

One of the reasons why students get involved in prostitution is because of lack of funds to pay their fees in school. But, under God, we can overcome any temptation. There are scholarships available to students in schools all over the world. Any many students who can't afford their fees apply for them so as to get funds/support. It's far better than prostituting which is a sin that can even lead to STDs. If you don't have money to pay your fees, don't prostitute even if your mates are doing it. Pray to God for provision and apply for scholarships, you could get one. I'm a living witness of this. I'm currently on a scholarship program that pay for my education and I thank God for it. It has really changed my life in school and at the same time prevented me from getting involved in illegal acts just to fund my studies.

So, students, God is a provider of resources and he will provide all that you need to succeed academically. He is our Great provider. Pour your burdens on Him and He will handle it. Nothing should make you to compromise your faith just because of good grades. God is watching. Be a good child of GOD.

REMAIN BLESSED!

See you in my next article.
