Today 05 October Mashrafe Birthday

So,I write about captain Mashrafe bin Mortoza.

Mashrafe bin Mortuza (born October 5, 1983 in Narail district) is one of the leading bowlers of the Bangladesh cricket team and captain of the ODI team. His nickname is 'Kaushik'. He is a right-handed batsman. His bowling style is right-handed medium pace bowler. Apart from the Bangladesh national team, he also played in the Asia XI ODI team.

Personal life,

  • Mashrafe was born in the southwestern district of Narail in Bangladesh. From an early age, he preferred to play football and badminton instead of studying hard, and occasionally swam in the Chitra River. His interest in cricket grew in his early youth, especially in batting; However, he is now better known as a bowler, which is why he is also known as 'Narail Express'.

  • Everyone knows the bike-loving Mortuza as a very cheerful and generous man. He often rode his bike around the local bridge. He is very popular in his hometown. Here he is called the "Prince of Hearts". Sumna Haque met Sumi while studying at the Government Victoria College in this city. The couple married in 2006.

Career,

Early career:

Mortuza is one of the most successful pace bowlers in Bangladesh. With his aggressive, fast bowling in the Under-19 team, he caught the eye of former West Indies fast bowler Andy Roberts, who was then the team's acting bowling coach. On Roberts' advice, Mashrafe was included in the Bangladesh A team.

Mashrafe got a chance to represent Bangladesh in the national team after playing only one match for Bangladesh A team. He made his Test debut against Zimbabwe on November 8, 2001 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Khaled Mahmood also made his debut in the same match. The match remained unresolved due to rain. However, Mashrafe made his debut in his debut with 4 wickets for 106 runs. Grant Flower was his first victim. Interestingly, it was also Mashrafe's first first class match. He is the 31st player to have this rare feat and the third since 1899. Mashrafe made his ODI debut on November 23 of the same year with Fahim Muntasir and Tushar Imran. In his debut match, he opened the bowling with Mohammad Sharif and took 2 wickets for 28 runs in 8 overs with 2 balls to spare.

He suffered a knee injury during his personal third Test against England. As a result, he was forced out of cricket for almost two years. He had success in the second Test against England. After taking 4 wickets for 60 runs, he got injured in the knee again. During this journey he was forced to stay out of the field for almost a year.

During the 2004 match against India, Rahul Dravid was dismissed as an off-stump ball and he announced his return to form. In that series, he bowled consistently and created opportunities to get Tendulkar and Ganguly out. However, he did not get a wicket due to the failure of the fielders. He was the hero of an unforgettable win against India in a one-day international of the series.

He bowled well in the 2006 Test series against England. His average was the best among Bangladeshi bowlers. He contributed to the dramatic win against Australia in Cardiff. He dismissed Marutte batsman Adam Gilchrist for zero and gave up just 33 runs in ten overs.

Historically, there was a shortage of good pace bowlers in Bangladesh. Bangladesh had an international standard spinner like Mohammad Rafique but no significant pace bowler. Mashrafe filled that void in Bangladesh

In the 2007 cricket calendar year, Mashrafe was the world's leading wicket-taker in ODIs. He has taken 49 wickets so far.

Mortuza played a key role in India's unforgettable win over India in the 2006 Cricket World Cup. He took 4 wickets for 36 runs. Mashrafe also played a role in the World Cup warm-up victory over New Zealand.

Mashrafe is known as the "Narail Express" to Bangladesh's fastest bowlers and supporters.

Mashrafe is a marquee batsman. He hit four sixes in a row in the second ODI against India in Dhaka. From that over he scored 26 runs which is the highest run record in a single over for a Bangladeshi batsman.

Mashrafe had to leave the team due to 11 injuries in his 18-year career. Injury snatched the 2011 World Cup from him. In the third match of the 2017 Rocket Bangladesh-England ODI series, he took 2 wickets and took a total of 216 wickets, making himself the highest wicket taker in Bangladesh ODIs.

He retired from the international T20 game on April 8, 2016 with the last T20 of the Bangladesh v Sri Lanka series. Mashrafe, known as Mash on the field, is the first Bangladeshi cricketer to retire as captain.

Responsibilities of the captain

In early 2009, Mashrafe was an assistant to captain Mohammad Ashraful. He succeeded Mohammad Ashraful in June of that year and was replaced by Shakib Al Hasan.

Bangladesh won the match but Mashrafe was sidelined until February 2010 due to injury. Shakib Al Hasan later captained Bangladesh in that match. He was later re-captained in the home series against Zimbabwe in November 2014. However, this time he got the responsibility for only one day international match and this time Shakib Al Hasan got the responsibility as his assistant. He is also serving as the captain of Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup.
