Date: November 12, 2021What a gloomy day this day. Waking up at 6:00 in the morning to do some routines but the weather makes me lazy co'z outside it is raining with a cold breeze that makes me cover again with a blanket and sleep again and be awake around 8:30 am. No raindrops but the cold breeze can be felt.
I will not be shocked by this weather because it is just a sign that Christmas is fast approaching. There are 44 days left. I've seen some houses already decorated by building Christmas trees, lanterns and led lights outside the house. I don't know but as I go up our house never did or do a Christmas decor every year or even put some lights. But that's not mean our Christmas is lonely. Maybe, Mama has no talents in decorating,lol😂. As I reminisce about my childhood , Christmas day brings so much joy and happiness because I still vividly recall all those single details celebrating christmas. Here are some memorable events.
Without further ado, lemme start😊
Carolling
As the ber month starts means carolling also. Every 6 in the evening we start to have a big collection. We just sang one song per house, and noted it every night hahaha. Our neighbors laugh at us while singing because we don't memorize and pronounce it correctly, especially "Joy to the World". Gosh, don't judge us😂, we were just 8 years old at the time. The funniest one is when the house didn't give us some cents. We continued singing with the ending of " Thank you. thank you malaking aso takbo" (Thank you, thank you there is a big dog, so run for your life, hahaha). Until today some children sing that song.
Last carolling happened in 2007 together with my churchmate. We are all teens. The house we decided to go with are the church members so that they will give us a big amount hahaha, evil laugh. We accumulated PHP 450.00 or $9 and we decided to use the money for ice cream, soft drinks and biscuits. We are all hungry and tired.
Another form of carolling was the most insulted for being a disrespectful person. This time we bring guitar and prepare so many songs just to express that Christmas is near, with or without giving us we will sing especially when we feel that house has a sad or lonely atmosphere. In the middle of our enjoyment, one last house before we will go home so we give so much energy while singing but the house owner is very disrespectful. We sing the last song and he gives us some money through the window by throwing it. Noted, it was all coins and he closed the light. I was so shocked by that behaviour. After the incidents, no more carolling happened.
Christmas Party in our House
Papa and Mama when the month of December starts they start collecting coins until December 25. It is always 8 in the evening when parties start, a lot of games are being prepared but in the middle of enjoyment Mama will throw the coins together with candies in the sandy area for more thrill.
Making sound exactly 12 o'clock am
No matter how deep our sleep is Papa will always wake us up to jump for believing we gain some height hahaha. Kahit anong taas lang talon ko, pandal pa rin si ako, huhuhu.
No matter how we celebrate our Christmas, the most important thing is the people who are with us while celebrating.
