Hi everyone!!! Good day to you wherever you are in the world.I Hope you are okay and doing great. Thank you for your support and love on my last article living in Lagos. If you haven’t read it please do check it out. Here is a concluding part of living in Lagos titled ; the regular lifestyle.
Without taking much of your time let’s dive into it.

The normal norms for us lagosian…
For us lagosians and people that visit Lagos from all part of the world frequently; we have already gotten use to the traffic. Here is a typical illustration:
Every time I travel from home to school, mind you I used “travel” not because the distance is far 😂 but because I understand the rules of Lagos traffic. Now a typical journey from my house to school would normally be an hour and 45 minutes but on several occasions it took me close to 3 hours to get to school because of the Lagos traffic. Just so you know my school and house are in the same state LAGOS . So what I do basically is wake up by 5;00am get ready and leave home by 6:00am so as for me to get to school before 9:30am approximately😂. Crazy right ? Lagos traffic has turned me into a travel consultant. I still love it though.
The main reason for all these traffic and waste of time in Lagos would be the kind of drivers we have here in Eko-Lagos. Driving in Lagos is like a fast and furious movie you have to be sharp, attentive and sometimes aggressive. Overtaking is allowed and if someone is too calm hence driving slow the vehicle in the back would mostly overtake them while throwing insults on them like
“abeg driver motto like human being no dey do like snail, we go sleep for road because of you”
which would translate as “ can you please drive this car as fast as possible you don’t expect us to stay behind you all day”
Often times they might be confrontations on the road which would lead to fighting hence causing more traffic. The only good side to these traffic situations in Nigeria is that you can buy almost anything ..yes almost anything in the Lagos traffic from new shoes, clothes, phones, food items, electrical appliances, anything you name it. My city is really great 😂😂.

If you have ever been to Lagos you would understand that most part of the state is covered with huge water bodies and so one of the few things to enjoy while staying in Lagos is the beach. The city provides its citizens and tourists a lot of beautiful water bodies with cool breeze gushing from them hence when in Lagos you would notice a lot of bridges. This is to enable cars and people to travel from on end of the state to another. So take note tourist and investors looking to come to Lagos the beach is a good place to relax and have fun.

Another beautiful thing about Lagos Is the fashion diversity of it citizens. Here in Lagos you would find all kinds of people, Lifestyles, work ethics and fashion. Hairstyles oh the hairstyles…from locks to clean fades to nicely plaited hair both for males and females, to different colors of dyed hair; the typical lagos street is basically a fashion show down. let’s talk about night life ..
Lasgidi night life
You know how some artist would say in their songs ; “ the city comes alive in the night time” yes that is a perfect way to describe my city in the night time.
The Lagos night life is probably one of it greatest attribute. The clubs, disco places and even bars are always filled with people from the late hours of the night to the early morning. People of many ages can be found in these clubs from teens to men in their late 40s. The Lagos night life would offer you options according to your pocket let me explain:
The first category: these are the night clubs or evening bars for the 1% of Lagos population, the wealthy, the movers and shakers of Lagos. The politicians or their kids, big business men, foreign investors, big time artists and the likes.
These kinds of club offer first class services and the drinks are always costly almost too much. Clubs like quilox, or the cubana branch of clubs would have questions your goals in life . This is because the kind of money spent in these places in a night can sometimes be very outrageous.
Second category: These are for the working class, the business owners ,small firm directions or entrepreneurs. These clubs are moderately expensive in the sense that one could afford some of the things sold here.
then there is ….
The ordinary category; these clubs are mostly occupied by students especially Unilag students 😂😂. The drinks sold here are at very low prices and entry is easy. Most of these kinds of clubs are found close to the mainland like YABA.
The food
The fact that Lagos is made up different kinds of people form different states in Nigeria and the world there is no typical food peculiar to lagosian with each everything from roasters corn to jollof rices ,roasted or friend plantain, cassava flakes, agege breads and lots more.
This is for the foreigners on this platform, if you plan on visiting Lagos soon I would recommend you get yourself a plate of jollof rice.
In conclusion, Lagos is the best city for me, I actually have a lot to talk about when it comes to Lagos, even though I am not originally a Lagos child. The streets of Lagos, the feel of being surrounded by water, it’s people, the fast life, the culture, the know-how, the fashion and lifestyle. If I were to talk completely on Lagos I would need to write a full book and still I haven’t written anything yet that is our beautiful and diverse tge Lagos city is.
Thank you for your support and time as always
peace and joy ❤️
