Lies …for fun??

Hi read.ciTizens how is everyone doing today, i hope this read meets us well and I hope we are all keeping safe. Thank you all for your support on my last article. I am so excited to be part of something this huge. Without wasting much of your time let’s dive into today’s article…

should we tell lies for fun ? Should we lie because we can ? Is there anything like a white lie?. For a while now I have been following the prompt “lies” organized by @CoquiCoin for the “promptly jonica community”. In as much as some of the best writers on this platform have done justice to this topic I feel the need to share a bit of my experience, well here goes…..

He tells lies for fun

I have a friend who lies for fun most times he would call it cruise:-which meant it was just for fun, nothing serious little did he know that he is loosing our trust as the day goes by . I will give you a simple and the most recent event I can remember..

In the early hours of yesterday I stepped out to get some suppliers when I got back my said friend was bitter or at least acting like he was bitter. I asked what happened and why he kept his face like a broken toy. He complained that he had been looking for his phone and that he suspected me and another friend who was sitting down close to where I was. I told him that I stepped out and of course when I did he was still with his phone so there is no way I would be the one that took the phone; I mean technically speaking I wasn’t around when the phone went missing. I said all these and more with a concerned heart because I know how it feels to loose one’s phone considering the fact that we are students, the extra cost, the files, the videos, the pictures , the memes oh the memes 🥲.

Still being concerned I decided to leave what I was doing to help him look for it we searched for over 30 minutes to no avail. My other friend in the room told me to ignore him that he was just telling lies as usual but because of the seriousness in his face I believed him. We continued searching, after about an hour of searching seeing that I had become frustrated he brought out the phone while giggling and laughing. Then the next thing he said after laughing was “guy it was just a joke but earlier on …” I just cut him short and replied almost immediately “you have been playing these stupid pranks and telling these lies every time but you see this one you did today it got to me and henceforth whenever you tell me anything in this life I would never take your word for it” I ended the conversation and left. Ever since whenever he tells me something I always try to check with at least two other persons which gets him furious sometimes but what can I do, he did this to himself.

I would like to add that constantly telling lies would make one loose credibility and as so no matter what happens please let’s not play with lies it can be very dangerous. Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf ? We wouldn’t want that to happen to us would we ? Of course not.

This is my entry for the prompt “lies” organized by @CoquiCoin and @JonicaBradley for the community “promptly jonica” I hope I have been able to do justice to this topic as well.
