Sacrifice for a life back

We spend a lot of time looking at our phones scrolling through social media, and we like to think that we're doing It consciously, though most of the time It isn't. These little rectangles with crystal screens had become more than a tool, to the point where It seems like they're using us more than we're using them. What's the first thing you do when there's an awkward silence in a conversation and you don't know how to break the ice? Surely It'll be pulling your phone out of your pocket and checking your feed. At the same time when you feel bored instead of sitting there with your thoughts, you resort to entertainment in internet as a form of distraction, affecting in this way your focus and your productivity. That's why in this article I'll present you with some benefits that living without social media, hoping to encourage to at least reduce the time you spend in It and focus on your work. Let's begin:

1.- More Boredom:

As I was pointing before, people have already forgotten what the sensation of feeling bored felt like due to the easy alternative that checking your phone can bring you. However, there's always that sense of guilt that covers you when you do It. Well, in fact, being bored and being alone with your own thoughts can have a great impact in your life, as It can let you reflect on your actions, their consequences, what your life is like at the moment and where you would like to be, even analyzing your own personality and growing because of that, making you a better human being just by appreciating the solitude of boredom.

2.- High Quality Leisure:

What do I mean with High Quality Leisure? When you're doing something that you enjoy and that Is at the same time good for you, you know you are doing an activity that provides you high quality leisure in opposition to just looking at your phone. These activities include hobbies, participating in clubs where you interact with others, reading or even the pleasure of conversation. So even If you don't plan to leave social media, always try to incorporate these in your daily life.

3.- Lower levels of anxiety

It is easy to feel overwhelmed and nihilistic these days, and for plenty of reasons. First being bombarded with a lot of notices that are depicted in such a way that It makes you pick a side and condemn the other as the devil or just roll your eyes at the extent to which people are willing to take things. Second, by looking at curated portraits of other people's lives, making It seem as If they were more attractive, living a better life and being happier than us, when It is all just a façade to get more views. By taking a break from social media you'll be able to look at things in a more level headed manner and get the sense of importance you require to combat anxiety by performing the right actions, such as taking care of your loved ones and sharing good moments with them.

Unless it is not part of your job, you can really freed yourself from using social media. I had done it for a month, it was boring. My life had been dependent on it, but I really need to get rid of it because social media is never helping me with my anxiety.
