How to stay "on the right track"

Is there a person alive who does not need advice? Whether it's a roadmap or instructions on how to use specific machines, we all need guidance from time to time.

A modern illustration

Human spaceships also need guidance. In many of these vehicles, this need is met by a guidance system consisting of a computer, observation transducers, an inertial navigator, and steering actuators. In fact, the same things can be used to illustrate humanity's need for divine guidance.

The "brain" of the spacecraft is the computer. A programmer presents a mathematical path or reference path. This connects the starting position with the destination. The reference route can also take into account obstacles and prohibited areas that must be avoided.

Observation transducers are devices that take measurements to indicate speed and position. For example, one way to determine this position is to use a star tracker, which uses stars and planets to determine the position of the spacecraft in space.

The inertial navigator is a billing device that detects changes in motion (acceleration) and relates them to speed and position. Works in conjunction with observation walkers. Any inertial rotation of the browser is the result of errors in this tool.

The signals from the observation transducers and the inertial navigator go to the computer. Tolerances or corrections are made to compensate for distortion, distortion, and imperfections inherent in these signals. The computer then uses this information to estimate the spacecraft's current position and speed, compare it to the originally planned baseline to reach its destination, and determine the necessary corrections to return to that route. These corrections are electrically sent to the steering actuators.

Steering actuators are motors that convert these signals into corresponding changes to the ailerons, rudder, and elevator while the spacecraft is still in Earth's atmosphere. If it's out of the atmosphere, energy rockets are fired to get you back on track. After lift-off, the spacecraft often deviates from its trajectory and corrects itself multiple times. It deviates from its path and is returned, returns and is returned. Although it frequently deviates from its course, the ship ends up reaching its destination, as it always corrects itself when heading to its destination.

A "reference path" for life

The resources in this guide system can be used to illustrate the Christian's journey of life. In the Bible, Jehovah God established a program that leads to life and a warning of those that lead to death. As a free moral agent, man is his own programmer and chooses the course to follow. Consequently, Moses said to Israel: “Look, today I present to you life and good, death and evil. When you listen to Jehovah's commandments. . . You have to stay alive. . . But when your heart is spinning and you are not listening and you are really deluded and you bow down and serve other gods. . . you will surely die. It can be said that when a Christian accepts God's way, he plans in his head a "point of reference" with baptism as the starting point and eternal life as the final goal. Christians must constantly refer to this biblical "way" to see if they are "on the right track" or not.

Just as the spacecraft's computer was programmed to avoid obstacles and forbidden areas, Christians must be aware of the dangers that must be avoided. The Bible singles out many as "the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the dazzling display of their food." The scriptures warn: "Do not love the world or the things of the world." They also point out that "bad companies corrupt useful habits." In addition, the total abandonment of Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion, is demanded with the words: "Get out of here, my people, if you do not want to share your sins with her and if you do not want to receive some of her wounds. .

And when divine humans examine themselves, they should be aware of their personal prejudices and prejudices. A prejudice against a race or a prejudice against a nationality, favoring some because they are rich, or despising others because they are poor, is something to consider, just as a spaceship has to make corrections. due to the distortion that sometimes occurs in the signals received from observers.

Sometimes Christians encounter problems that are not addressed in some scriptures. This can be compared to the spacecraft's circumstances when observers cannot offer stargazing. Therefore, the inertial navigator must be reliable. It detects changes in motion and takes inferences to calculate or calculate position. Such a deduction or calculation of death is imperfect, and the computer must fill these loopholes.

When a Christian does not have a direct biblical mandate on an issue, the correct course of action can be derived in terms of a biblical principle. For example, there are no biblical texts that specifically mention tobacco and prohibit smoking. But Christians understand that smoking is a violation of the commandments to cleanse the flesh and show love to others, because tobacco smoke also affects the health of non-smokers.

Apply update

Jesus told the pious religious of his day, “Study the scriptures carefully, and we will assume that when you have them, you will have eternal life. But even though your testimony shows me, you refuse to come to me for this life. "Why did they refuse? Jesus replied," You have no love for God in you. “In synagogues, they read the scriptures for this purpose. Jesus said to the people: Do as they say; Pay attention to your words. But don't follow your practice; because they say one thing and do another. “Writings which revealed the path to eternal life but did not follow it.

True Christians strive to follow this path because they love God. They realize that "it means the love of God, that we keep his commandments." Not only do they study the Word of God, but they also learn the lifestyle, but they compare their behavior with the course described in the Bible and see what corrections need to be made. You also actively apply this knowledge to yourself and make the necessary corrections. Christians have become "performers of the word, not just listeners". They realize that "just as the body without a spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead".

Compare it with the image of our spaceship. Not only does the computer make the necessary corrections, it also sets the control actuators in motion to make them. Christians should act the same when they use the Word of God in their lives.

To lose is to sin

Remember that the spaceship often starts after the course. But thanks to its control system, the machine constantly corrects itself. The word "sin" in the Bible is translated from Hebrew and Greek and means "to miss", which means to miss a point or not reach a goal. It can refer to a physical object or a moral or intellectual purpose. And because "all have sinned and fall short of seeing the glory of God," Christians often fail and do not fully obey God's will.

Sometimes it becomes difficult to follow the right path. But do not be discouraged. Instead, we must "continue to have power in the Lord" and "continue to verify that we are of faith." When Jehovah corrects, we must listen. The prophet Isaiah wrote: “Your own ears hear a word behind you saying, 'This is the way. Come in, guys, if you have to go right or if you have to go left. ""

By sticking to the small things, we develop a habit of loyalty that helps when major trials of our faith occur. Through our faithful practices, we write God's laws more and more deeply in our hearts. The more a spiritually enlightened heart leads us, the less we lose focus because of sin. Finally, through Jehovah's undeserved mercy and kindness, we will reach the goal of everlasting life in his new righteous order.

Sometimes some feel out of reach of God's mercy. Like the spaceship, they often deviate from course. But Jehovah's mercy and kindness can extend to us and to many others. Therefore, "we do not stop doing the right thing, because we will reap in good time if we do not get tired." Christians in particular want to show their love for Jehovah God. It is not possible to "program" to show such deep respect for the Most High. But we can increase our appreciation for him and improve our opportunities for eternal life by keeping our eyes on ourselves and on the word of God. We can review and make necessary corrections. If we fall, we can go back, get back on the "path" and go into eternal life.
