An opportunity abroad, should I grab it?

Hey, what is up, my super wholesome read cash buddies? How’s it going? I hope you guys had a great day! Yeah, it’s been a rough week for all of us since each one of us has been through different battles in our lives. But all we have to do is to get up and move forward towards our goal of success.

These past few days have been rough for me because it is also our "hell week" or our midterm examination. But thankfully, we’re already done with all of our exams in each subject, and we can finally be able to relax, especially our brains, and take a deep breath without worrying about school stuff. I just hope that I will be able to pass all of those exams. Fingers crossed.

An opportunity abroad, should I go for it?

Last Thursday, we went back to our university to attend our orientation for our on-the-job training that will happen soon. I’m torn between getting excited and anxious as well. So, our orientation was all about the opportunities and offers from the agency that partnered with our university. One of the tourism and hospitality agencies in Thailand wanted an intern from our university to work in one of their hotels in Thailand. That is why they are offering us the opportunity to work abroad in the country of Thailand.

Before that, we were asked if we were interested in working abroad for our on-the-job training. Then all of us in our class were listed as interested students to work abroad. Well, not literally full of interest, but we just tried listing our names, and also, it was our class president’s idea to just list our names without consulting us, lol.

So, I arrived at our university at 12 pm, since I was just taking the bus, and the orientation would start at 1 pm in our university hall. Honestly, you guys, I literally got lost in our university because it’s been so long since my last visit and mostly everything in our school has changed and there were lots of new buildings already, so I forgot where the hall is, lol. Thankfully, I saw one of my friends and we went together to the hall. When we arrived, there were a lot of students already and it looked like we were the only students left that hadn’t arrived inside the hall yet. I was surprised to see a lot of students who were interested in an internship abroad.

The speaker then started his speech about the orientation, and I honestly got interested in everything he said because it can really benefit me in the near future if I really pursue this course that I am taking. They have said that they need some interns from our university and mostly girls. Well, we know that females are usually needed in the tourism industry.

The opportunity that they offered to work abroad was so good because you don’t have to worry about everything when you arrive in Thailand. The country of Thailand is where we will work if we ever decide to work abroad. The agency said that they have prepared the apartments where the interns will be staying, that they are rent-free, and that the food and breakfast are free as well. They are the ones who will process the student visas that the interns need and everything that is needed to work abroad, especially the plane tickets and everything.

And we all know how much it costs if we compute everything that is needed. That is why they reminded us to prepare a budget of PHP 85,000 and that is already fixed for everything that an intern needed. But that's not included in the passport and for the medical since it’s the student’s responsibility. We will be staying in Thailand for three months, and the good thing is that each student will receive an allowance worth PHP 15,000 every month. So, the students will get PHP45,000 for the three months of being interns in one of Thailand’s hotels. So, it looks like you just got your money back from the 85K that you paid to them.

Aside from the work abroad in Thailand that they offered, they have also offered work abroad in Japan. Yes, in the Land of the Rising Sun, which is my dream country. But in Japan, they are not offering internships in Japan, they are only offering them to those people who want to work in the tourism industry. It is a job available to recently graduated students who majored in tourism or hospitality management.

Right now, I don’t really know if I should go for it, but to tell you honestly, I really wanted to experience working abroad, and it is a great opportunity to become an intern in a place outside of our country. It makes us able to look for a job easily since we have already experienced working abroad. But as much as I want it, what is stopping me is the financial problem thingy. Where can we get that 85 freakin' thousand? If only the market was high enough, then I would go for it without hesitation.

But maybe I will go for it. I just hope so. lol.

Thank you for stopping by!

See you on my next blog. Stay hydrated and stay safe always!

It would be great if you can go. At least this would be another added knowledge to you. God will provide the money if He actually want you to go. So, I want you to hope in God and commit everything to Him. He will guide you on how to go about it.

Every year may pinapadala silang students to work abroad depende sa kung anong lugar, last time it was somewhere in America.
