Good morning guys, how are you doing today? I trust that you're having a great day.

This morning I'll be writing outside what you've seen me write on before. I'll be going the health way today. My article will be around health. Health is wealth. Even if you get all the money you ever wished for without having sound health to enjoy it, it's most likely a waste because you'll either keep spending the money on treating yourself. Good health can't be underrated because no matter how much vision and goals you have, you'll need your body o be sound and healthy to be able to execute and fulfil the vision.

So what I'll be writing today is something of great value and I trust that you'll find it useful.

Before I go on, I'll like to do some appreciation: Special thanks to my sponsors both old and the ones planning to, subscribers both old and those that will subscribe now, also thanks to those who thumbs up and comment on my post, I really appreciate all of you, I do not take it for granted.

Back to the subject of the day, I'll be talking about diabetes.

I know that we've all heard about diabetes, infact, some of us knows a person, or knows a person that knows a person that has diabetes. But we don't really understand what it's all about. As much as we all pray for good health, it is of utmost importance that we intentionally and deliberately pay attention to things like this. To the definition, Diabetes is when there's increase in the sugar content in your blood. Diabetes can be self- inflicted that is you are the cause due to your ignorance or negligence to paying attention to your body's health. It's can also be caused by a family trait, that is, it is something common in your family, in this case, you're liable to getting diabetes easily. You'll need to monitor it so closely from a very early age so that you can escape it.

There's a misconception about sugary food and diabetes. People believe that sugary foods are the ones that cause diabetes whereas it isn't true. The truth is that all food after being processed produces a particular amount of sugar. The body need sugar because it's through this sugar we get energy to work. So it doesn't matter whether it is protein, carbohydrates or fats and oil, they all produce sugar. The sugar is passed through the blood to different parts of the body for those parts to function properly.

The problem doesn't just lie with the consumption of food, it's also dependent on whether your body produces enough insulin or is the insulin deficient and not effective enough to do what it's supposed to do which can be caused by maybe your lifestyle and the things you engage in. So it's not really about I don't take sugar or sugary drinks.

How can you diagnose diabetes? There are three ways of diagnosing diabetes. There's the fastened blood sugar, random blood sugar and there's the one called glycocelated haemoglobin (HB1C).

The common one that most people have even at home is the fastened blood sugar. In this type, you're to use a Needle to prick your thumb, then you put the thumb with blood on the strip. This will show you the level of the sugar content in your blood. By this you can determine if it's normal, prediabetes or diabetes. If the result shows that it's prediabetes, there's a next test to be carried out which is to check the sugar level after eating since the initial test was done before you ate any food. The blood level is checked again 2 hours after you eat. If the result after then shows that your body can handle it, you'll be advised to engage in exercises in order to burn the sugar. Also, your diet will be censored in order to curb the situation.

Some of the symptoms of diabetes are;

1. You drink enough water but you still feel thirsty as if you didn't drink water.

2. You're losing weight without even trying to

3. You find yourself peeing more than usual

4. You always feel exhausted no matter how long you sleep

5. Your eyesight seems blurry

6. You get more infections like UTIs

7. You feel hungry or starved even after eating.

This is for today. I hope you learnt a thing or two. Bye and have a great day.

Thank you Jerry for this. It is a common misconception indeed about sugar, but it is good because of that, people start to lessen their sugar consumption hehe.

You've done a great job lecturing us about diabetes and its dangers. My grandfather died of diabetes, my dad has diabetes. It is said that it runs in our blood, so I'm really careful about what I eat
