A Chance of a Lifetime
You said to give it a chance
And chance it was
It was not particularly special
But you gave it your best
Every day ordinary, nothing truly special
Breakfast, lunch and dinner as usual
Work on weekdays,
While weekends, we play…
Little did we know time passes by…
And as it passes by, us - grow in time…
Home was a just a dream
And it became our reality
We laugh, cry, fight like other couples
But we never let it get the best of us
You said, never let a day go by without a word
That indeed worked.
For all its worth, the love you brought was nurtured
More than our bank accounts advanced .
You focused on time and its essence
All knowingly, us valuing our presence.
We spent togetherness as sweetly as it grew
Now you’re gone, the bitterness only grew.
Not a day gone by the memory abandoned
For the love so real, lasts for a lifetime.

Nice. It's amazing to read people's poem when they write it happily, while I, on the other hand, can only write poems when I'm sad.
