Who are all these people?
Who are all these people wandering around? Today I am you. Tomorrow you are me. Yesterday it was someone else. Are we shadows that change direction hour by hour? Are we numbers?
They are counting us again. "15 people died of Covid today, 700 were newly infected and 30 are on ventilators." We seem to be living in a new world. And just a few years ago, we were not these people. We were someone else, who hug and kiss and are not afraid of each other. We were not bags of fear that walk around. Until they are locked up. And some never open again.
I found myself in front of the Covid clinic again waiting for the test result and looking at the people waiting. That's when I asked myself, who are all these people? It seems that we are all the same. I am them and they are me. Positive again. Marked in red, which warns that access and contact with me are prohibited. I will run away from others. They will run away from me. Again.
But now I am tired of Covid. Or perhaps because of Covid. I don't know, but I am tired. I'm tired of asking myself who all these people are. I want them to be themselves again - immune and relaxed. To fight viruses naturally and not to fear for their lives from day to day.
In conclusion
I wish you a wonderful day. Not in dreams and hopes for a better future. I wish you a wonderful day here and now, with or without Covid. Enjoy your best moments with the people you love. Don't leave it for another day. There are other days that never happen and we have been waiting for them. Waiting for Covid to pass, we pass too.
We are all these people. Shadows that move guided by what they tell us. Shadows that run away in fear and get lost. Don't let yourself get lost. Check back every day to see if you are there. And enjoy the wonderful day. Not tomorrow, not when Covid passes, enjoy a wonderful day today.
We are all these people who wait, who are afraid, and who wander not knowing where they are going. Find your direction and save your trust for a better world.
