Accidental good time This morning I accidentally 🙂 saw the weekend post topic **„accidental good time“** in the Hive community and I joined the challenge. I remembered one weekend when I had an unexpectedly good time. It was a weekend with a small amount of money to spend. We decided to visit a Sremska Mitrovica town that is not far from our city and does not require a lot of spending money. When we chose this small town located on the banks of the Sava River, the main reason was the interesting history of this town. And the other reason was that we have never been there before. We did not have high expectations that we would have a great time, but we had a nice walk. The town has a wide pedestrian zone and many cultural sights worth seeing.

Sirmium, one of the capitals of the Roman Empire and one of the largest metropolises of that time, used to be located on the territory of Sremska Mitrovica. Sirmium, as a settlement, dates back to ancient Celtic times and traces of settlement date back to 7000 years ago.

The town has a very nice promenade by the river.

Sremska Mitrovica is a peaceful city. But too peaceful. It is so peaceful that you soon get bored. People are moving slowly. They speak slowly. Many stores were closed. When we asked the locals what else we could visit, they told us that we had already visited everything and that we could relax by the river. It was nice and relaxing by the river, but a strong wind started blowing. We agreed to go home even though it was early to return. And then we accidentally met a colleague of my husband who came to this town to visit his parents. He told us that there is a pool of thermal water in Sremska Mitrovica, which is warm about 32 degrees Celsius, and that the next time we come to this town, we have to go there. We thanked him for the recommendation, but we thought we would not return here because we were bored. My husband looked at his watch and realized it was early to go home and said, "Why don't we go to that pool now?" I gladly accepted the proposal because I like to bathe in warm water very much. 🙂 We stopped at a Chinese store that was fortunately open and bought swimsuits. When we arrived, we were thrilled. Everything was neat and clean. For a start, we refreshed ourselves with lemonade.

And then we entered the water from which we did not come out until the end of the day. Next to the pool, there was a jacuzzi with even warmer water. What a pleasure!

We stayed until late at night and we also had dinner there. We did not expect such an awesome end to a boring day.

The feeling of relaxation of the body after bathing in warm water is something that each of us must give ourselves once in a while. Sremska Mitrovica is now one of our favorite towns, where we gladly return when we need relaxation. 🙂 Thank you very much for reading. The images and article are original and mine.
