More than just a movie

A few weeks ago, I watched one movie at the cinema and that is currently the most popular movie in my country. Remember this fact "at the cinema", because it is important.

That movie is called „Toma“, directed by Dragan Bjelogrlic. It is about one man who was a very popular singer in my country due to 1970s and 1980s years. He is not only remembered for his songs, but also as a bohemian in his behavior and his soul. Ha had a specific and unique way for singing and recognizable voice. The movie describes beginning of his career but also his great fame later. He composed his songs by himself and many of them are actually the true stories of his life.

What kind of person was Toma?

Toma was a very charismatic, good and humane person. He liked to help people who needed help, especially poor people who didn't have money for normal life, because he was poor as a child. Toma was a man who would be extremely rich one day and the next day he didnt even have enough money to buy bread and milk. He lived like every day could be the last day of his life. People were talking that he carried love for every being of this world and that there was some warmth and tenderness in his eyes. He died at the age of 53, of cancer, but until the end of his life he was singing with the same enthusiasm. He was a sad person, because he had a difficult life as a child and also he wasn't happy in his love relationships, but he loved to live. He spent all his money for his pleasures.

My country is crying

Almost every person who watched this movie, came out from the cinema with tears on the face. The movie has a great emotional impact and talks a lot about life. When you watch it, you are really sad, but you also start to think about your life. I was very impressed when I watched this movie even though I have never been fan of that singer and that kind of music. It is also impressive that everyone is crying, both men and women.

Almost being arrested because of a movie

At the beginning of this article I wrote that I watched this movie at the cinema, but many people watched it on the internet because someone illegally shared the link. One day in the daily news, they reported that everyone who watched this movie via that link, would be arrested. It caused panic among the people because the most people watched movie via that link. It was a really big part of population. Fortunately, for now, no one who watched movie via link isn't arrested.😊

The reason I wrote this article is to share with you some thoughts and quotes from the movie, which I have on my mind and I think that they could be a good life messages. As Toma said „we should look at life as a banknote and we should spend whole banknote at the moment, because with a change we can not buy anything“. It means that we shouldn't put off some things that we want to do in order to be happy, because maybe we will not have another opportunity to make our wishes come true and to experience pleasure that we want. Toma also sad that „it doesn't matter how long life lasts, but it is important how much life we put into each of our days“. We should live like today is the last day of our life.
