How RiorTrek began

Almost 9 months ago when RiorTrek was formed. It was 14th of January when we first began our practice. Although months before January, we have several plans on how to start the journey.

Gifter and I met here in read.cash back in October 2020. The platform served as the avenue for us to cross paths together. We have discovered that both of us are music enthusiasts and so we shared a lot of common interests.

I can say that read.cash saved our lives. I literally had no idea where to go if it wasn't for this platform that is why I will always be grateful for everything read.cash has done to my life may it be financially or as my emotional support system.

Music channel was not the original plan

After months of chatting, Gifter suggested a random idea about creating a Science channel. He planned to visit Bukidnon on July 2021 but it was the peak of pandemic so he had to cancel the trip.

Oct 15, 2021 when he finally set foot to Bukidnon. He proposed a lot of ideas on how to establish a good science channel. We shared several ideas about it.

I actually thought of making a music channel for us but only making song covers but we did not pursue it.

December 2021

Gifter, out of nowhere changed his mind and suggested that we should be doing a music channel instead. He got that light bulb when he passed by to a warehouse playing a song out loud.

He then came up with a big realization that if you create music, people won't mind playing your song on repeat whereas scientific, mind blowing contents where you mostly get the public's attention once at most.

He already had 8 songs ready for recording so we made up our minds to stick with it.

January 2022

On the 13th of January 2022 when Gifter finally moved in here in Bukidnon. He rented a place in the neighborhood to keep us close.

The next day was the first day of practice. It was awful. Sunny kept barking because Gifter was still a stranger to her.I honestly got discouraged of how it went but I thought about it as a bad day. We are still establishing a chemistry that time.

April - June 2022 (Recording - Instrumentation)

Weeks and months pass by, we enjoyed playing songs together. It was around April when we began to record the guitar and keyboard inputs.

There were frustrations and delight throughout the process but I'm glad we made it through.

June - July 2022 (Recording - Vocals)

We came up with a lot of options how and where to record our vocals as clean as possible. We then resorted to make use and improvise our bathroom as our recording booth.

It took weeks as well to record the vocals and have them edited. We enjoyed the process of recording them.

July 26, 2022 (Music Video - shooting day)

After many months of waiting, getting our plans cancelled for the music video shoot, the day has come.

I went to Davao and stayed there for two night for the music video shoot. It was very exhausting but we were all feeling accomplished and fulfilled.

We're super excited to see the output of it after conceptualizing the video.

August 20, 2022 (Live Studio Performance - Shoot day)

Aside from the music video, we needed to video ourselves playing the songs too. We thought of not making an appearance on the music video to give the spotlight to the kids and to fully convey the message as well.

Good thing we found a recording studio in my city so we took advantage of it. The cosplay look was all Gifter's idea. He thought that we should portray a different look to the viewers as "clickbait" aspect. I was against of it because it's not what I signed up for and I thought we'd look silly. Then, I conceded. It's as if I have an option.

September 10, 2022 ( Youtube channel and Facebook page launching day)

The day has come! Just yesterday we have finally launched our Facebook page and Youtube channel!

After several months of preparing, the journey has begun. This is only the beginning. We are doing our best to promote our channel and page so we could be monetized and get gigs as much as we can.
