World Peace, Is this Still Possible? I came across a video on Youtube, it's a discussion about world peace. I believe most of us are critical to this matter. The majority of us would think that it is close to impossible from happening. This is some sort of idealism. In fact, war has been a fundamental part of our history. I can also attest that in war, it is where humanity stays in the hearts of people, at least for some who have a good heart. That brings me to ask several questions to myself. Why does violence becomes an anchor of superiority and to establish territory? Are humans born with these traits? As they say, we all have our inner demons. It is just a matter of a trigger or a turning point that leads a person to exhibit negative actions. As I was watching the video, I realized that the main reason why world peace is so hard to achieve is because of GREED. Humans are too greedy in such a way that they will do everything they can to take advantage of something that is not even theirs but treat it as if it's theirs. Am I making sense? Selfishness is different than Greed. Although these two have negative connotations but greed is heavier than selfishness. Selfishness is not sharing something that you have while greed is acquiring something that is not yours and not sharing what you have. Money is too powerful that it can change a person's perspective in life. Then again, world peace is possible if everyone thinks it is possible. **How** do we achieve world peace? **Law and order of the society.** Oh well, this is such a huge factor to attain world peace. Conflicts usually start when people don't have access to justice. Well, technically there is but it's selective. It only applies to those people who are wealthy, who can afford to bribe the judge, to bribe the police officer, and anyone that could be a strong potential to dismiss the case. Politicians and other big officials in the country abuse power to manipulate people for their own greedy reasons. That's one important factor to work with that in reality, is so hard to regulate because we cannot control their minds. If the willingness is not there, it will be helpless. **Gender** equality and stop racism Even before generations follow time after time, discrimination against gender existed and is still an issue nowadays. There are various circumstances when a person is not allowed to access such premises because of their color. Racism still exists although not as worse as before. Many lives were taken because of discrimination. Men and women, regardless of race and color are entitled to their lives. Remember, we breathe the same air, we stare at the same sky, we walk on the same ground. That makes us all equal. **Economic** fairness. I believe this is one thing that hinders world peace the most. Many people go against the government because they are not given a fair share of the economy. The farmers and other small merchants are being taken for granted. Some of them are getting scammed by those abusive established greedy people. This results in chaos. A hard riot that is mostly impossible to handle. Much worse, a bloody war and revenge will follow. Now, this makes me sigh and feel hopeless. **Control illegal transactions of drugs and firearms.** These illegal activities mainly promote chaos in the world. Possessing illegal firearms indicate how they prepare themselves for a situation that could happen. By then, it goes to show how war shock humans can be. They could kill one another to get what they want. These are more of a general outlook on how to achieve world peace. If you look into it, the sole reason for not obtaining world peace is **greed**. Above all the factors listed, on a personal note, I believe achieving world peace starts within ourselves. If we let anger, rage, hatred, frustrations out in our hearts, world peace can be highly achievable. Let us teach ourselves to let go of the negative mindsets and at the same time, cleanse ourselves full of love and compassion. After all, we exert all the best that we could and we feel like there is no progress at all, I believe it's time to surrender it all to God. You've done everything that you could, you did your part, so let God do the rest.
