Let's Get Tired of Being Lazy
For a moment in our lives, I'm quite certain that there are days when we just wanna lay on our beds doing nothing. In fact, studies have shown that it is advisable to have at least one lazy day a week to give yourself a break after all the tasks you have rendered for the entire duration of the week.
Having said that, do you give yourself one lazy day in a week or do you have given yourself too much of it and become lazy for the entire week? That's bad. That's not a healthy habit.
As to my recall, rest days were not actually rest days for me because I still keep doing the things that needed to be done because I placed everything on my plate. As a result, I got frustrated with handling so many things and I got burned out.
Then again, that is a different story. Being lazy is okay, that's your body telling you that you need a break, you need rest to recharge and replenish your energy. However, if you have let yourself slack off for a long time already, there are things ahead that we need to face as consequences of the action we do in the present.
So how do we bounce back from laziness?
Of course, it starts with a decision. You need to have a strong mindset that you don't wanna be lazy anymore. However, it's not going to be a smooth ride dude. I'm telling you. It's not going to be like in the movies where there is a musical scoring of 30 seconds showing off a person's hard work in training and then becoming one of the best after.
However, we have not seen how many takes it took to get the best shot, we have not seen how much effort the actor has to put through into that scene and everything perfectly executed. It was not an easy journey. That's how it's going to be.
As we begin our bouncing back from laziness, here are some things we should highlight on this journey:
Celebrate every small progress.
As you go through the journey of changing habits, it's going to be a tough one. Distractions will be there, temptations are testing you everywhere, and your determination is measured.
A friend of mine told me about his progress in taking the Licensure Exam for Teachers which just recently posted the list of passers and he's one of them finally. He told me about the celebrations he went through before achieving what he wanted.
Back in college, he admitted that he was not a good student. He should have studied hard so it won't be hard for him to pass the board exam. He took the let exam 3 times before he finally passed.
The first four exams were indeed the instruments of his success. During the first exam, he only scored around 40% of the test. So he studied again. On the second try, he scored around 60%. He celebrated that. It gave him the hope that he can bounce back.
On the third try, he scored 70% which was so close to getting the passing rate. He still celebrated every single time. He did not lose determination, instead it provided him the fuel to do better, and finally, on the fourth try, he passed.
It is about how you perceive a situation. It's a mindset that you need to instill in your mind for you to keep going.
Facing consequences.
Now since you have been lazy for quite some time, you have to face the consequences. There will be sacrifices to make because you need to catch up with the things that you lost on the days when you were lazy.
If you are trying to be fit again, double time on working out. Extend and make time to work out. If you are trying to pass a subject, double-time studying by extending hours of research and minimizing unnecessary activities in the background.
All these things are doable most especially if you really want to change yourself. It's like sleeping on a race that you have to double time catching things up because they're way too far from you already.
Consistency is the key.
Now that you have decided to make up for everything, you don't wanna be lazy again. Remind yourself that you want to be productive every day, that you want to feel progressive each day.
That way, it'll give you a sense of purpose to live day by day. After all, it feels so good when you are slowly achieving the important details on your list.
So what's your biggest motivation to change yourself? Let's get tired of being lazy from now on.

Keep safe everyone!
