I missed the time where I was free ,
To hug someone I seldom see.
To tap a friend when I roam around,
Where no danger from an enemy abounds.
Chatting with friends by group was okay,
Same with walking side by side in the alley.
I attended social gatherings confidently,
Have some fun and enjoy endlessly.
Now an enemy changed everything.
Everyone you see seems strangers passing.
Faces covered, smiles are hidden,
Nodding, a way of recognition.
I travel to places anytime when I wanted to
And discover new places without so much ado.
Now a piece of paper I need to show.
Before I can enter a place and go.
I used to feel the wind in my face,
during my travels here and in every place.
Now I'm sad, I can't continue
The things in which I usually do.
No shaking of hands,
Masks and faceshields in demand.
Sanitizers and alcohols
Sold like peanuts in many establishments.
Fear surges deep within me,
What's this that I see?
My fellow, caught by an enemy
What if it also caught my family and me?
My beloved land, once stands proudly
Why now, bowing suddenly?
The enemy we once put down,
Came back with a stronger weapon.
My land, my dear land, I plea
Chin high don't dwell on negativity.
I know you were aghast
On what's happening,for it's too fast.
Banking on what's happening around.
We need to stand our ground.
Don't let this little demon make us fall,
Let's win this battle once and for all,
Let's all response to unity's call
To triumph let us all claim ,
We won our battle once,This time, we'll win it once more!
