It was January when I first heard about the upcoming Pandaland, the first GameFi on SmartBCH developed by a group of Chinese developers. The community was excited to play this game that was supposed to start in the last quarter of January, but due to some reason, the hunting feature was delayed.
Yet, development can be seen in the Pandaland site, which only shows that the developers team is working on it.
The main functions of Pandaland include:
Hunt where your group of 3 Pandas would go to the jungle and battle with the monsters to collect $PDA rewards.
Breed where parent Panda of both sexes could produce baby Panda to make a bigger team and accumulate more rewards in the battle.
Market for trading Panda NFT and PDA tokens. And as well as buying equipment, potions, and other necessary things for the game.
Yield Farm (was recently added and went live after the fundraising) Participants can add LP on MistSwap and stake the LP on the Pandaland Yield Farming feature.
In the beginning, anyone who wanted to participate in the hunting was required to hold at least three Panda NFTs to enter the battle arena and fight with the monsters. More than 3000 Panda NFTs were minted which cost 0.1 BCH per NFT.
The Panda NFTs of both sexes are also capable to breed baby Panda. So basically, one must hold male and female Panda NFT.
To support the launching of the game, the team has conducted fundraising, and anyone who donated got a ratio of 1 BCH:10000 PDA. The minimum 0.1 BCH donation got 1000 PDA tokens, which is the required amount of PDA to hold to play the game. PDA token was then listed on MistSwap for those who missed the fundraising. Additionally, a feature was added wherein anyone can exchange BCH for PDA in a ratio of 9000 PDA per 1 BCH.

The team has raised more than 150 BCH and distributed PDA tokens to participants with the equivalent ratio to the amount of BCH they donated.
After the successful fundraising, the yield farming went live in which participants could add LP on Mistswap and stake the LP on Pandaland which at the time of writing has 594% APR. The yield farm feature currently has BCH/PDA LP pools and would probably add more pools sooner.
Pandaland Hunting Goes Live!
April 7, at past 11 (HK Time) in the evening, I was checking SmartBCH platforms when I came across the Pandaland hunting feature and saw additional buttons. Upon clicking the new button, it functioned and my Pandas battled with the monsters, and I saw how the game works. However, it was just a sort of demo and not a real game. A few minutes later, the hunting feature went live for real.

To participate in the hunting game, a player must hold:
3 Panda NFTs
1000 PDA Tokens
To play the game:
Go to the Hunting feature and click Setting.
Choose a group of 3 Panda you want to enter the battle arena.
Confirm and click Play
Here's how the game looks like.
Panda hunting requires a small amount of gas fee about $0.02-$0.03 in BCH and the battle only takes a few seconds.
Additional things you need to know about the Pandaland Game:
The total force of the team depends on the force of each chosen Panda, the elements they possess, and the selection order of each Panda. The higher the total force value of the team, the higher the chance to defeat the monsters. However, a high force value still won't guarantee your team to win the game. It is still a matter of luck. Additionally, if the panda team losses two times in a row, the three Pandas won't be able to hunt the next day.
Each Panda obtains 6 energy, thus, they can only be sent out to the jungle to battle with the monsters 6 times a day. But later, you could obtain extra energy in some PDA-monetizing ways (raffle, tournaments, etc) that will be conducted by the Pandaland team.
Panda Statistics, Rarities, Elements, And Order of Selection
Each panda has corresponding traits, elements, and rarities, with an order of selection that a player must know to advance in the game.
There are a total of 1514 Female Pandas and 1520 Male Pandas. The minimum talent is 407, and the maximum is 1781. The talent of each panda has the same value as its force.
The Five Elements are:
Metal
Wood
Water
Fire
Earth
The selection of orders of each Panda according to the elements they possess also matters to win the game.
Here's how it works:
When playing monsters, the positions of the three pandas are A, B, and C. The order of these three positions will affect the result. The total combat effectiveness of the team is：
If two adjacent pandas have different five elements：
A + B + C ± AB/(A+B) ± BC/(B+C)
If two adjacent pandas have the same five-element elements (take the same kind of AB as an example)：
A + B + C ± 0 ± BC/(B+C)
Description：
The total combat effectiveness of the team is equal to the sum of the forces of the three pandas, plus the influence of each other's attributes. Because A and B are next to each other, AB affects each other before. If the two are equal, then add the two (the product of force divided by the sum of force), and if the two are equal, subtract the two (the product of force divided by the sum of force).
It can be proved that when A>=B, A/2>=AB/(A+B)>=B/2. That is, it is equivalent to about half of the mean.
Therefore, the above algorithm has practical significance: when the two pandas next to each other have a promoting effect, the force value is increased by about 0.5 times; when there is an inhibitory effect, the force value is reduced by half.
Any two five-element attributes either give birth to each other, overcome each other, or have no effect (when the two are of the same type).
Example:
If the order of the three pandas is wood, fire, and Earth, the total force value is A+B+C + AB/(A+B)+BC/(B+C)
If the order of the three pandas is wood, fire, and metal, the total force value is A+B+D+ AB/(A+B)-BD/(B+D)
If the order of the three pandas is wood, metal, and fire, the total force value is A+D+B-AD/(A+D)-BD/(B+D)
If the order of the three pandas is wood, wood, fire, the total force value is A+A+B+0+ AB/ (A+B)
If the order of the three pandas is wood, fire, and wood, the total force value is A +B +A+ AB/ (A+B) +AB/ (A+B)
If the order of the three pandas is wood, wood, wood, the total force value is A + A + A + 0 + 0

A player doesn't need to understand everything as the system will automatically calculate the Panda team's force value. All you have to do is to learn how the selection order works when creating a team to get a higher total force value as it is an advantage to winning the game.
Currently, the Pandaland hunting is suspended due to some bugs issue. The team is fixing them so players could resume hunting.
