There was a boy who is very talented. He knows how to draw, sing and dance. His room was filled with his artworks, paintings, sketches, and some crafts. His computer was full of his recorded songs and videos of his dances. His parents know that their son is very talent kid and they are happy and proud about it.
One day, in school, the boy's teacher told the class that they need to prepare for a presention to showcase their talents and everyone must participate. The teacher gave them time to think of what they need to show infront of class and gave time to practice. Everyone is busy talking and practicing. The teacher noticed the boy sitting and not doing anything.
She approached and asked, "Why aren't you doing or practicing? Do you know what will you show? Are you prepared already?"
"Teacher, ahm... i don't know what to show. I don't know what my talent is," said the boy.
"Aren't you good in arts? I saw your drawing before and it's beautiful. Why not show your artworks to your classmates," said the teacher.
"No, I don't think so. They are not beautiful compared to others. Mine is just an ordinary, nothing special."
"Don't say that. Your artworks are very beautiful. They are exemptionals. Don't think that way. Trust yourself and be confident. If you don't want to show your artwork, why not show something that you're confident with?" said the teacher with a smile.
The boy just stared at the teacher before the teacher left. He think of what he is confident to show. Thinking of performing infront of class makes his chest pound in nervousness.
"Okay, class are you ready?" asked the teacher.
"Not yet, teacher! Can you gave us more time to practice? said one of the student.
"Hmm... (look at her watch) Okay, since it's almost time before the class end, I will give you more time to prepare. Think of your talent and prepare. Tomorrow, you will present it in class. Practice at you home, okay?" said the teacher.
"Yes, teacher!" shouted the class.
And so the day end...
At home, the boy's parents notice that he seems worried.
"Hey, son. Is everythings okay?" asked father.
"Yah, I'm okay." replied the boy.
"It seems that something is bothering you. Are you sure you're okay?" asked mother.
"Hmm... Actually, teacher asked us to prepare and present our talent tomorrow." said the boy.
"Oh! That's great! You can now show your talent to your classmates." said mother.
"But mom, I don't know what to show to them." said the boy with a frown on his face.
"What? Isn't you are good in arts, dance and sings? Why don't you know what to show? You have so many talents." the mother explained.
"I don't know..." the boy replied in a sad tone.
"Son, you can sing or dance, or show your arts to your classmates. I am sure they will be amaze of how good you are." the father said to his son.
"But dad, I am afraid. What if they laugh about me? "replied the boy.
"Why would they laugh? You are good, and we know it. And I am sure your classmate will not laugh at you, because you are good. They will love it, and that's for sure. You need to be confident about it." said father.
"Having the confidence in everything you do is important. Either you're bad at it or good, if you have the confidence everything is going to be fine. If you don't have the confidence you will remain the same, and you will not improve. If you don't have confidence people will laugh at you and people will belittle you. People will take advantage lf you." explained mother.
"Let me tell you a story." said father. "There are two man who are both good at sing. The two wanted to be a singer so they practice almost everyday to improved their skills so that they can achieve their dreams. The first man taking every steps and opportunity to be a singer. He go to every audition he know and show his talents. He failed most of the time, but because of his confidence and determination he passed the audition and become a singer. While the other man is left alone. He practiced everyday but he didn't go to auditions although he is good. An agency recruited him to be a singer but he refuse and said that he can't do it. The man lose the opportunity to achieve his dream because of his lack of confidence. He envy his friend whom he see on television, doing what he want which is singing. He said to himself "I may have the talent but I don't have the confidence, and now I am here, remained dreaming." The man regret it..." father tap the back of his son as he end the story.
The boy went to his room, and think of what his father told him. After thinking he grabbed his guitar and started practicing.
The day of their presentation came. The boy entered the class with a smile on his face.
"Did you think of what to show to your classmate today?" asked the teacher.
"Yes, teacher! the boy answered energetically.
The teacher smile and went infront.
"Good morning, class! Are you now ready to show your talents to your classmates?" the teacher asked the class.
"Yes!" the class shouted in unison.
"Okay, since you are all ready, let's start. Who wants to start? " said teacher.
Everyone raise their hands. The boy roam his eyes to his classmates. Everyone his eager to showcase their talents to in class. The boy smiled and raise his hands.
The presentation begin. You can see in student's face that they are excited to show their talents. Everyone is clapping after each performance.
"Okay, next to show his talent to us, let's all welcome... " the teacher said.
It was the boy's presentation.
Although he is nervous, he got all his courage and stand in front. He look at his classmates and smile. The started strumming his guitar and sing. Everyone was amaze. As soon as he ended his performance the class applauded him with a smile on their faces.
"Good job! See you're good so no need to be ashame. Everyone is delighted by you performance. You are a talented kid. Be confident to show it to everyone." the teacher said to him.
"Thank you teacher." the boy replied and went to his seat.
The day end and the boy told is parents about what happened in school.
"See? I told you that everyone will love it. We are so proud of you!" mother said and plant kisses on his head.
"Always remember son, that whatever you do, always be confident. You don't need to be ashame and afraid. Always think that you can!" his father said and hug the boy.
And so the boy sleep with a smile on his face.
