My Field Study Experience [Online Set up]

Field study 1 is one of the courses offered in third-year college, of its second semester, it is composed of 16 episodes. The course was designed to help future teachers gain information in the field of teaching. The students taking the course will learn and will acquire knowledge on the feasible approaches to facilitate learning considering the different phases of the development of a child, their different attitudes, learning styles behaviors, social environment, backgrounds, or the diversity of learners in general, that affects the learning process. The field study 1 course was anchored by the different professional education courses.

It was a course where you will learn how to be a good facilitator in the field of teaching. This will surely help future teachers build a good sense of attitude towards teaching. The fact that the field study 1 students are emersed in the field can vary since they are involved in the teaching environment rather than explaining the concept of teaching. The field study is an educational technique that can help the students work in real-life situations and develop skills and competencies that is suitable to their career.

Beliefs on Teaching and Learning (Pre and Post)

A student-centered approach to learning is the best method where the role of the teacher was to facilitate only and not to spoonfeed hence this approach was very effective to the students, a teacher will not spend all of his/her time talking to his/her students. This method ensures that all students are involved and challenge to do tasks in class, Students will strive hard and become motivated in class since they will feel that they are part and being trusted.

Pre :

Teaching the lesson is enough as long as you’ve delivered the lesson well and you’ve already mastered the content.

Post:

• After our observations a lot of realizations I’ve learned:

• Don’t force your student to learn and understand the lesson

• Use different styles for you to effectively instruct the class with different learning styles

• Respect and love your students

• Accept and respect everyone’s opinion

• Encourage them to study, The more you motivate the learners, the more the learners perform better.

• Be not just a role model but a good role model

• Educate not just teach

• Be prepared always as you entered class (you do not give what you do not have)

• Be a student-centered facilitator

• Love your profession and everything will follow smoothly

• Teaching is not just a profession but a passion

• Being able to change one’s life is the greatest achievement of being a teacher

• Be a good teacher and you will be remembered by your students

• Make your classroom an environment where everyone can share knowledge without any hesitation

• Everyone has their uniqueness a teachers role is to bring out the qualities of a student so that a student will enhance his/her skills and talents through the care and guide of a teacher

• A good teacher is a good communicator not just his content on his day to day lesson but on how he/she can give impact on every student

• Patience is a Virtue. No matter what grade level you're teaching, your patience will be tested while working as an educator. Even in different aspects of life patience must practice
