Selfish Love

'Love' is the most wonderful and beautiful feeling in the universe. Some of us already has tasted this blessed feeling and some of us has not yet tasted. I'm not talking about the love which only happens between a girl and a boy. The real meaning of Love is vast and beyond of our imagination. There is no one who can give a proper and right definition of love by using some words. We can just feel this feeling but we can't express the feeling by just weaving some words step by step. But, we can tell that Love can conquer against anything at anytime. Love can make the ugliest(I'm talking about inner beauty, not outer beauty) person into a beautiful person. Love can acts as honey,love can heal our deepest injuries, wounds but sometimes love can works like poison too. Sometimes when we add our over possessiveness in our Love then it can ruin our cherished beloved's life in an instant.

Today I'm going to discuss about a theme of an American psychological thriller film which I saw yesterday just to overcome my boredoms as I was suffering from poor network connection.

The name of this movie is 'Run' though it is not based on a true story but there are millions of true cases like this.

It was released on November 20,2020 by Hulu but this movie was released internationally on April 2, 2021 by Netflix.

So what is the story???? Let me explain you in brief.

The movie starts with a scene when A woman, named Diane Sherman gives birth a premature baby girl whom she sees later along with us lying in an incubator.

About seventeen years have passed since then and now Diane lives a pleasant and happy life with her teenaged daughter Chloe Sherman (Sarah Paulson) in Washington.

As Chloe(Kiera Allen) was born as a premature baby girl for this particular reason Chloe uses a wheel chair for her each and every movement. As she is physically challenged that's why she need to take various medications. Though after facing lots of obstacles, she never gave up and proved herself as an intelligent, curious and very passionate girl about her studies. She has a wish to get admission in her dream land, her favourite university. As she is very intelligent, luckily she got lots of university letters but her mom Diane always hides all her acceptance letters and continue to burry and murder her daughter's dream.

One fine morning, when her mom returned from market, Chloe is trying to find her favourite chocolates in the bag of groceries and on a sudden she finds a small bottle filled with pills with a label on which Diane's name was curved. She starts to suspect her mom and for this she hurriedly tries to see and search the name of the drug(medicine) and somehow she finds her mom is giving her wrong medicines since her childhood. She breaks down in despairs and become hopeless and devastated.

To find out the reason behind giving her wrong medicines. Chloe requests her mother to take her to the movie. She pretends to go the bathroom, during the film , she makes an excuse goes to a nearby pharmacy. After insisting so many times, the pharmacist tells her that it is relexant clef Ridocaine which is meant for dogs only and if a human being takes this then It can numb a person's leg.

Shortly after this, she finds herself in a bed, locked in a room but somehow she manages to go to Diane's room by dragging herself through the roof top's window.

When she was trying to go down stairs accidentally falls and in the meantime she discovers that she now can feel her toes.

After sometime, she tries to stop a running mail truck and asks for help and he agrees instantly but her mom dragged her to take her home.

When chloe awakes from her temporary unconscious state, she finds her in the basement where she also discovers her childhood pictures where she understand everything as transparent as water, a bunch of university acceptance letters along with a death certificate for a girl whose name was also Chloe who died two hours latter her birth and a piece of torn newspaper article about a couple whose baby had kidnapped from the same hospital.

In the time of mental breakdown of Chloe, Diane make her appearance and Chloe immediately accuses her for making her sick and crippled.

Diane again tries to give Chloe injection but Chloe drinks a full bottle of poison finding no way to escape.

Again Chloe wakes up and funds out that she is hospitalized and now able to move her feets slowly. Diane tries to kidnap her finding no other path , during this action Diane is shot by the security guards.

At about seven years later, we can see that now Chloe can walk short distance with the help of a stick, she then visits to Diane and tells her that she is living a happy life with her real wonderful biological family, lovely husband and child and also got a great job too.

We can see sick and pale Diane who is in a complete bed rest due to her injuries. In the last scene, Chloe takes out a green pill which she hid under her tongue and tells Diane that she still loves her. We can see the ending of this movie here with a glimpse of Chloe with a smile and Diane with a mark of regrretment.

We can understand that Diane did all the things to Chloe as she wants to spends her life with Chloe and doesn't want to lose her. But, we can't tag this behavior of Diane as Love because Love gives us freedom , Love don't make a person it's prisoner.

Let me ask you one actually two questions??

Did Diane do the right thing?? What do you think Love is?
