Papa: The pillar
There is nobody on this earth who is not the product of a father. fathers play a lot of roles in our life some of which we consider to be insignificant. sometimes we never know how significant those rules are until they are out of our life.
The roles that Fathers play in the lives of children as well as the lives of their spouse has remains underappreciated and underrated. Fathers are hardly celebrated or commended for their works in the lives of wives and children.
Recently I was in a conversation with a group of friends about how underappreciated fathers are in the society all in the family. A child would come home from a long distance journey and gift the mother with a lot of goodies why the father would be left with nothing all probably bottle of schnapps.
That's kind of reminded me of a man in my community who would always complain about how his children and wife treated him. One time his wife went to one of their daughters home to take care of her and her newborn baby. On returning back the woman brought back sacks of salt, truck full of new clothes most rappers and a pair of men's shoes. The shoes we are gifted to the man while the other goodies belonged to the woman. The story of this man who was gifted with only a pair of shoes can be compared with the stories of other fathers out there.
Not withstanding the fact that we do not really appreciate our Fathers the way we should for what they do for us, they still go extra miles to make sure that we are comfortable.
A father would go that extra mile to see that his household is not intimidated. They protect the family like a hen would protect its chicks from a hawks attack. A father would always try to ensure that his wife and children are not harmed by the outside world.
Fathers are also providers. It is always said that a man brings home the bacon. Fathers do a lot of things to ensure that their family is provided with everything they might need. They do all sorts of works to see that our needs are provided for. You see them working in the mines, factories, even in the woods also ensure that they make enough to cater for their family. A father will do all sorts of menial jobs to ensure that the child is living a fine Life.
A father is also a trainer and an enforcer. He prepares his child for Life in the outside world. he knows that the world out there is filled with vipers and a lot of bad things, so he shapes us in a way that would enable us to live in the outside world without being swallowed. A mother would teach her child to be protected from the dangers of the world but a father will teach the child not just to be protected from the world but to face that dangers of the world on his own.
Fathers are also the biggest disciplinarians. They give the biggest beatings and they scold us they most. All these they do because they care about our well-being and they want us to be the best wherever we find ourself in the future.
