You probably must have watched a movie where cultists called their fraternity The Brotherhood and thanks to that your idea of Brotherhood is a set of people who come together to cause havoc.

Before I go on, I'd give a clarification on the word. Brotherhood has two root words; Brother and Hood. Also, according to the English Dictionary it means a fraternity which men ascribe to. However, if we are to go by the colloquial meaning the definition we would get would better explain things.

As earlier stated, the root words for Brotherhood are Brother and Hood. This goes on to say that the brotherhood is basically brothers in the hood. By brothers we don't mean to say people born by the same parents. It is basically a thing which gains conception in the mind through actions exhibited. Brothers in the sense that when it calls for being there for one other a vote is usually cast by all parties involved. Brothers in the sense that they have a great level of understanding, love, and sometimes trust for one another.

Let's not also forget the other part; Hood. Hood is not necessarily in the sense that they are of the same habitation. Sometimes, they meet online and develop great respect for each other and before you know it; one is behind the other standing as the Best Man on his wedding reception. On most occasions tho, hood means the same boyhood community, or the same primary or secondary school.

In basic language; Brotherhood is a group of boys or men who have come to not just see themselves as brothers but carryout brotherly duties to each other notwithstanding their meeting point.

Brotherhood to me is a group of men who trust each other dearly. One will be on the other side no matter what the difficulties are and no one will let one brother strive away from their pathway no matter if it hurt as long as they keep each other safe. This is an explanation for brotherhood but it lacks the "values" I needed for my community, maybe if you could share your own experiences regarding brotherhood, something that you values, that could be an eye-opener for others, I would be happy to accept your article on next submission. Thank you.
