How else can a fresh graduate get a job?
As I was going through LinkedIn today, I saw a post about a lady who is a fresh graduate and who was looking for a job desperately, she wrote so many applications based on entry level and the companies response would always be "sorry, you do not qualify for this post because if your inexperience". She's frustrated because she knows her ability and what she can do if she gets employed into the company even some of the companies tell her so but what's stopping her now is because she has no work experience.
Now tell me, how on earth will a fresh graduate have a working experience of 5 years especially in this country knowing fully well that we can't work in an organization and learn at the same time compared to that of the developed countries. It's just so unfair to newly graduated students. I understand that experience is key in the development of anything and that's why they say, "experience is the best teacher" but on a lighter note, someone who has no experience but have a very good IQ can be more productive to someone who has experience with no brain.
At least we should give the fresh graduates trial too, some of them are very intelligent and they can bring ideas to the development of the company, all they just need are trials. They cannot gain working experience without working at all, they have to work somewhere before they can have working experience. Imagine gaining admission into the university at 20 years old after you must have seek admission for more than 4 years and then graduate at 26 years instead of 24 years because of ASUU strike only for you to submit an application to a company and then they tell you;
You have a very good educational status and all your grades shows how intelligent you are, you could have been the best candidate for this job but sorry, we only need someone who is not more than 25 years of age and have at least 4 years working experience.
Please tell me how feasible is the above sentence in this country of oursπ. How on earth do you expect a 25 years old to have a working experience of at least 4 years? Some people will even graduate at a very late age of around 28 - 30 years because of how fucked up the educational sector is, and then, majority of the organizations will be rejecting them because of their age, is it their fault that they are born this part of the world?
I once had a neighbor who had no one to fend for him, he was such a determined young guy, he lost his parent as a teenager and since then he has been hustling all by himself. He would do some many hard jobs like serving bricklayers, and clearing farmlands just to save up money for his schooling, he eventually got his university fee. It wasn't easy throughout his university days, he had so many distractions, some of his friends will tell him to join them in doing internet fraudster but he would always decline, he stood his ground throughout his university days and later graduated as the best student in public administration. He started seeking for jobs but he always got declined because he is way too old for the job position and he has no level of experience. He got so frustrated that he almost wanted to take his own life until he met with a friend that introduced him to an illegal business with minimum of 10000$ per month.
If it were to be you, what will you do? Will you accept the offer of continue in your search for job?
Note: this is just a fictional story
We have to change our mentality, this issue of no employment has really led to so many atrocities in the country, it's not easy to graduate from the university and starts selling recharge cards on the streets. I know our government have so many things to do in this case but even the hiring managers as well need to be called to order!

I've complained about these problems attached to job hunting but who's gonna hear me? No one! It's absolutely unfair how Nigeria strategy on employment is. Just like the analysis you gave, even if admission did not delay you, ASUU would definitely. It's so unfair
