Everywhere we turn today, we learn more about the ways that nutrition is paramount to healthy living, yet the staggering statistics of escalating disease in the United States suggests something amiss for many of us. Why is it, that as one of the richest nations on the planet, so many of us suffer from cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity? In fact, why is it that these diseases are growing at alarming rates, even among our children, though we spend more per capita on health care than any other nation? Do you know that these staggering statistics of disease directly correlate to the wealth of a nation?

Through both personal, and deep inquiry, we have discovered that famed fountain of youth, that legendary spring that restores youth, energy, vitality and health in a low-fat, whole foods, plant-based diet. With the power to prevent, and even reverse major diseases like cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity, a whole foods, plant-based diet, coupled with exercise, has the power to shift your whole world. A low-fat, whole foods, plant-based, “rainbow diet” rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and enzymes will not only quell inflammation and alkalize your body, the source of all disease, it will nourish, heal and rejuvenate every cell and organ in your body, it will increase your immune function, it will create interior harmony and balance.

Good nutrition is a combined activity of countless food substances which work synergistically together to offer us all the protein, carbohydrates, fats (macro nutrients), vitamins, and minerals (micro nutrients) we need to sustain optimal health and prevent disease. For that reason we heartily believe that a whole foods, plant-based diet is pivotal to restoring and maintaining health, yet we also recognize the impact of the standard American diet (SAD) on our well-being. That is, if you lack energy, with little to no physical activity in your life, if your diet lacks a preponderance of fruits and vegetables everyday, and… if you do not eliminate 2-3 times a day, your body has begun to accumulate wastes and toxins, an environment described by doctors from every field of practice, as a breeding ground for disease and premature aging responses.

Because of the ways the SAD diet affects our well being, we offer here the purest, excipient free, living source nutraceauticals, superfoods (and a whole host of resources, information and ideas at What is Healthy Living?), as a springboard to move you forward on your journey to renewed vitality and vibrant health.

The only problem with going fully on a plant based diet is that you will be long term deficient on some minerals and vitamins. The main issue is that plant based foods contains oxalates and phytates, which potentially can bind any cation (think minerals like Iron, Calcium and few others). So, you need to do your research and get supplement if needed. Can be natural supplements, this is not a problem.

But before someone goes vegetarian/vegan, please speak to a nutritionist or do your research. While there are great benefits for cutting out meat, you do lose your source of protein and may accidentally ingest too much of certain vitamins which could have very negative effects.

The main problem with ingesting too much vitamins is related to the fat soluble vitamins, and the main way to get overloaded is by meat products for example (animal liver, kidney) and wrong supplements taken long term. The rest of water soluble vitamins, except B12, are eliminated via stools and urine. No danger in that direction. The deficiency is much more dangerous.
