Happy Anniversary BitcoinCash

Today is an important day for each and everyone of us in the BitcoinCash community.

Exactly 5 years ago, on this day, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block on the BTC chain, #GENESIS. It was a momentous occasion and everyone in the community was super excited

The development team wanted to reduce the transaction time and costs of BTC. So they launched Bitcoin Cash.

BCH chain was born when Satoshi broke off the chains and created the genesis block. This was done to fulfill his vision of a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. When he said that BTC would become a settlement layer, he certainly knew that it would become a centralized settlement layer which didn't exactly fit his vision of a peer-to-peer electronic cash system.

The cryptocurrency world has transformed since then with multiple forks and over 800 cryptocurrencies now existing. BitcoinCash had to develop and grow to keep up with the rapid evolution of cryptocurrency since its launch on Aug 1st 2017.

The very first block of BitcoinCash (BCH) was mined. With that, the highly debated hard fork protocol upgrade to Bitcoin that optimizes the BCH network for low-fee micro payments was born.

So far, BCH has been used for a myriad of things, from buying things at local shops to gift cards from major retailers amongst other things. It is also used for furthering charitable causes from funding educational projects in Africa to helping the homeless.

But lets not forget that the real power of cryptocurrency is its ability to be used as a money and as a global store of value. But it's not all about the numbers.

Is BCH at its peak?

Yes, BCH has grown tremendously, but still hasn't gotten to it's peak. We must stay vigilant! There are still many challenges ahead of us. Our biggest challenge is to get merchants on board with BCH. For merchants, payments with cryptocurrencies are too risky, especially for small to large businesses - because of price volatility.

Payment in BCH are smooth with low transaction fees. BitcoinCash (BCH) is not just a payment system. It is an ecosystem for many innovative applications. BitcoinCash allows you to do many things that were not possible before.
