Hey readers, Happy palm Sunday to you all. Last week I talked about the first four fruits of the spirit, Love, joy, peace and patience.

And this week I will be talking about some other five, Which are;

  • Kindness,

  • Goodness,

  • Faithfulness,

  • Gentleness and,

  • Self-control.

The scripture can be found in Galatians 5: 22-23

Kindness

Kindness is made up of small things. The word itself is a synonym for blessing, a salutation, the act of favouring someone or something. Kindness is the opposite pole on the magnet of negativity. It’s a small gesture, almost meaningless but can be far-reaching in effect.

Excuse me. Please? Thank you. I’m sorry. If a stranger on the street was kind to you today, chances are that you would remember it. Even though they meant no harm by it, being nice to people can have an effect on the world around you that other actions may not.

Goodness

Godness can be defined in 3 ways:

  1. Biblically "the quality of being godly", the state or character of the Christian.

  2. In philosophy, goodness that does not depend on the physical universe, e.g., goodness as opposed to pleasure.

  3. In positive psychology, goodness that is equated with mental health; i.e., goodness as opposed to evil or badness.

Faithfulness

Faithfulness is a fruit of the spirit. The Bible says that we are to be faithful to one another in love (Galatians 5:22). That means that we are to honor, respect, and value each person in our lives. This is the best way to fulfill the desire of Christ to help others in a selfless, giving way.

The Bible has a lot to say about our relationship with God and how He interacts with us. In many places in the Bible, we’re told to be faithful to God. But what does this mean?

Faithfulness means we don’t stray away from God, that we don’t settle for second best or seek other people out. It means we stay committed to the vows and promises we made when we pledged ourselves to Him.

Gentleness

Gentleness is the state of being gentle, its origin is in the heart; it is the soul of compassion. It stirs us to action when someone is in need. It gives us strength to meet the demands of our daily lives. It helps us bear with the imperfections of others.

Gentleness is one of those things that we’re all longing for, but don’t know how to achieve. But what if gentleness was our default response to everything? We can’t be gentle all the time and I certainly wasn’t before I started meditating, but what if we could?

It doesn’t matter where you want to be gentle. Gentleness will help you.

In the moment you become aware of an impulse or thought that is out of alignment with gentleness, you can do something different.

The very act of noticing shifts your momentum and you are already stepping out of the current. In that space you can choose how to respond. Sometimes it takes a little longer and it’s not always easy, but it’s nearly always worth it.

To cultivate gentleness, one requires only two things. First, "never lose sight of one's original nature", which is also known as one's real self or original face. Second, recognize that all things have a spirit and treat them accordingly, with compassion and respect.

Self-control

Self-control is the ability to manage your emotions and desires, especially when doing so is counter-productive or requires patience. That’s a good thing. Without self-control, we’re slaves to jealousy and unmet desires, not in control of our decisions.

It's okay to feel emotional. Everyone does. But that doesn't mean we can let our emotions rule our lives. We need to have self-control, to manage ourselves and our emotions with discipline.

We need to have self-control. You may not see it as a problem. If you see it as a problem you may want to know why others don't see it as a issue. It is obvious that self-control is important to life. When we want something, we tend to want everything about it. If we don't have self-control, it is easy to make a rash decision. We are going to continue with this topic because I think it is important to understand what self-control looks like in real life.

Thanks for reading ❤️❤️
