Why don't we act like Kids?
Something wonderful happened in the late hours of Monday- yesterday. Two kids were involved in a fight and one got injured. His mum got to know that it was Boy B that injured him (for the sake of this article, I will call the injured boy -Boy A and the one that injured him Boy B). Boy B's mum went to Boy B house and in annoyance hit Boy B with a broom. Let me quickly tell you about a superstition that has been in existence for a long in some parts of the country. It is believed that if you hit a male child with a broom, it might lead to him losing his reproductive. We all know this is a lie but I was shocked when I saw Boy B's mum flaring up and complaining about her son being hit with a broom. Everyone agreed that spanking the Kid because of the other is wrong, for it could have happened to either of the two. Kids are bound to fight and reconcile. But we all started laughing when Boy B's mother kept on clamouring about how the Broom will affect her son's penis. In the year 2021, someone still believes this farce?. What we thought was a joke turned into a real fight. The women around tried to separate them but it seems the women were on drugs or some stimulants because they repel all attempts to separate them. It got to a stage that they tore each other's cloth and the young boys around started laughing. Trust my generation. They brought out their phones and started taking pictures and videos instead of intervening or attempting to stop the fight. After much push and pull the women around were able to separate them. An elder in the community called the two of them and ask for each side of the story. They both narrated the story. Of course, each says it in a way that vindicates themselves and put the blame on the other. To confirm the story from the horse's mouth, the kids were summoned. But something surprising happened. The two kids were together, playing and smiling, oblivious to the activities happening around them. We all watched them with awe. These same kids are the reason why two grown-up women made a fool of themselves in the open. Watching those kids play I asked myself- "Why don't we act like children". A child can be so forgiving. They don't hold grudges or keep malice for long. They fight almost every day but reconcile almost immediately. But we adults love to keep malice and we see it as a hard thing to forgive others. Don't get this wrong. I'm not saying you should go back to the one who hurt you or a friend that seeks your downfall every time. Remember once beaten, twice shy. What I'm trying to say is how forgiving are we?. Do we hold grudges for long and plot the downfall of others?. If you are the type that believes life should be Tit for tat, the "You break my pen then I must break your pen" principle. Please note that it's one thing to forgive someone and it's another to forget. Let's face the truth- you can't forget a bad deed someone has done to you. Even after asking for forgiveness and you forgave the person, the thought of what he did the previous time will still be fresh to you every time you see him. It’s normal but doesn’t mean you haven’t forgiven such a person. As fate will have it, after watching the scene outside, I got in and the first article I saw was that of @FarmGirl ( because i love him) where she talked about how her aunt forgave her husband even after all he did. The man is dead now but I’m sure her aunt will have some kind of peace in her heart knowing she let go of everything before his death. https://read.cash/@FarmGirl/because-i-love-him-bafc693f Is there anyone you have a “beef” with? Why don’t you pick up the phone and try to iron things out with them?. if you go about with an unforgiving heart, you feel some kind of heavy weight on your shoulder. This can only be taken away by finding a place in your heart to forgive and let go. I remember being a kid, zero worries. All I had to worry was to meet friends the next day... Good old days when 3 - 67 was not possible to solve... Good old days
You know, I always feel this with my kids. When they hurt each other, they fight, but with a simple "sorry", the one will say it's ok and they are happy again. That's maybe the reason why when I am mad and they will say sorry and I will not talk to them right away they will say, but I said sorry already. Kids really reconcile immediately, they are the most forgiving, the most loving, I am actually learning from them.
Exactly! but we adults don't accept sorry alone.
This is so thoughtful. Kids have such a subtle heart that holds no grudge. As adults, for peaceful coexistence, we ought to grow and still keep our hearts like that of children, mild, fragile, caring, kind, forgiving, friendly and teachable.
I laughed imagining the scenario and when the kids play together and smile, lol. We adults really react too much to the point that we even hurt each other verbally and physically. While kids reconciled after every fight. Haha..yeah, why don't we act like kids.. No hatred keeps for long.
I can't believe that there are still people who still believed in that kind of thing. Being a kid is one of the great things, that is why some adults nowadays wishing to become a kid again. Kids do fight a lot but as you've said, they don't hold grudges against someone, they may fight today my later on they will still play with each other and acted as nothing happened. That's how awesome childhood life is. You don't have to worry about anything, all you have to worry about is how to escape from your mom and go sneak and play with friends.
In all, we can always try to forgive if we want despite your truth quote of once beaten twice shy. I believe in a situations that works well even though that problems will come
This story should serve as a lesson to a lot of people. I honestly don't know why we often burden our minds with malice and grudges. I think we should try and be more child-minded.
I also feel the same way .. I also feel that some matters and actions are best left dead ,just as kids would do , so that we can move on with our lives
That's true, kids tends to forgive easily. I remember my boy last night, his father spanked him and so he cried so much..but then after few minutes, as if nothing has happened...
Children heart is precious, they have no grudges against anybody. If two different mothers are fighting, the children don't care, they play with each other
We need to always be and behave like a child. When things got wrong, we need to look back and check where things went wrong in order to put things in place
💯% my friend 👌 nice article, what everyone are always about is that if I do not take revenge I will not rest and it is not supposed to be like that.we should all be like children we should learn to forgive and forget
What a remoursful article let's take a reflection back to our kids days to clear up our conscience and reduce the heavy weight on our hearts to be free from keeping malice.Have a great day.
You wrote very nice, how much a person tries to forgive someone, but he cann't never forget his bad behavior, but some people can not be forgiven, because if you forgive him and bring him back into your life, tomorrow he will hits you from somewhere else...
Naughty children 😁😁 they fought and caused trouble and now, they are friends again. That is their lives. Children do not know what having grudges is. It's just a pity they grew up knowing what it means and it is how they have been taught. The women are only ignorant of the fact that those Children fighting now, in the next minutes, they are back to playing together. We need to act like kids and never to keep malice.
Oh kids haha because of them their Moms 🤦😂. But, why make it a big deal kaso right. It's a childs fight, surely there's nothing serious in it . That's just how kids is. As for thr adult, reconciling is very hard specially if the war between them came from a big one. Sometimes pride js also the reason why they can't forgive each other
There are many things I overlooked even if the person don't ask for forgiveness, I see it like i am doing myself for carrying melice with them. The worst part is that most of them won't even realize their wrong.
my mom do say and i quote her "If you can't cope with the drama that comes with child bearing then stay alone from it" as mean as that sound it make lot of sense and maturity play a huge role in motherhood. @HappyBoy forgiveness can be hard at times depends on the gravity of the offense , some offense can be life consuming
Once you forgive, your mind is free else your heart is heavy. Interesting read with an interesting story
Wow, wonderful event leading to a great moral lesson. That's why Jesus said except we become like a child we cannot see the kingdom of God.
Free yourself from the burden of grudges
It hard been a child, especially when you are burdened by the cares of this world, watch those two women they had issues before the fight, they just loosened up with the fight, just like how some people ease their aggression and frustration by boxing. And at the same, it great being a child, no worries ☺
Thanks for dropping by ma'am
Forgiveness heals!
The superstition seems to have different variations. The one that's much believed here is that he or she won't see a wife or husband to get married to. 😂 I miss being a kid. No stress, no tension. Alot of unnecessary drama would be averted if the lesson in your story is implemented.
