I'm surprised she wasn't charged of copyright. Or did she? I don't know. It is disrespectful. When I first heard it, it literally ruined my day. I love "first love" so much that I memorized the song and researched for it's meaning. And I was listening to it almost 24/7.. then came this (dunno how to describe it without being rude) song... People are liking it cause it sounds awesome without knowing the original is far far far more remarkable. and that pissed me off haha... It made me look at her so cheap. She should have known it wasn't original. if she has "respect" she shouldnt have agreed... Unless she finds it justifying even when Utada actually made her permission (if ever Utada did)...

I get what you mean. She wasn't ever charged of copyright and utada never knew about this whole fiasco. The people here enjoyed it because it was a veey unique style to the kinds of songs we usually have here but no one ever bothered to find out who or what the original version was. Youtube wasn't really that famous back then compared to now so it's one of the reasons why but i swear, that version ruined the song for me big time that it honestly should be deleted and reported but it's far too late now

and that rap song???? no better than the song we're talking right now. hahhaa though it again is a different song. I can't remember if I know the original but I also think the rap version is a disgrace.

I don't have anything against rap songs or covers but for it to make it to the billboards, just insane. haha

It never made the billboards for as far as i know but i guess this just proves how great the original was if it was heard everywhere. Because people will rarely remember the lyrics. They'll remember the melody and that's good in the end because it was still heavily based on the original

But mind that people will remember the other because that's what they first heard and knew. I mean, even with hearing the original, they will still sing it as the other one. unless they love the original more...

Don't know about appearances but i just don't enjoy that it's too obvious these days. I mostly play rpg games like ragnarok, dragon nest, bloodstained, castlevania and other games but a while ago I was playing bloodstained because it doesn't require internet.
