In order for the space in which we live to be more beautiful and pleasant for work and rest, we have a desire to be surrounded by flowers. The illusion of lost nature can be evoked by plants.

Potted plants are grown primarily for their beauty, ie interesting colors of flowers and leaves, interestingly formed trees. They simply make each apartment more beautiful, noble and meaningful.

The name Tree of Life misleads most of us, because soon everyone who hears this name will think of a plant that is certainly present in everyone's house or apartment. These are plants whose Latin name is Yucca (Yuka), comes from the family Agavaceae. The country of origin of this plant is Central and North America. Typically for Yucca, the plants have thick stems on the tops of which rosettes with distinctly pointed leaves are made. In nature and with well-groomed plants, a rosette up to over 60 cm long with numerous bell-shaped flowers is made from a rosette, but rarely. It grows very slowly, but can reach a height of up to 1.3 m. The most famous are: Yucca aloifolia with dense gray-green, firm and pointed leaves and with 50-60 cm long saber-shaped leaves and Yucca elephantipes, which can grow up to 12 m in height.

Ideal care

In order for your Yuka to progress successfully, she needs a bright and sunny place in the apartment. From spring to autumn, it should be watered regularly and fed every two weeks. In summer, it feels best on a sunny terrace, and in winter it likes a cool (5-10 degrees) place, but it also tolerates room temperature. In summer, it should be watered 2-3 times a week and fed. In winter, it should be watered once a week without top dressing.

If the plant stands in a dark and overheated place in winter, the leaves may fall off suddenly (keep the soil moderately moist in winter). The fall of a few leaves in winter is normal, the plant creates its own tree. If it happens that too many leaves fall off at once, the plant should be moved to a bright place, stop watering so that the soil dries completely (6-8 weeks), then transplant the plant into new healthy soil and water it a little. Transplant it into a larger pot only when the roots fill the old one, but not larger than 30-40 cm. After that, just renew the surface layer of the soil. Propagated by cuttings of stems or shoots. It is easy to maintain, loves light, moderate conditions, and is decorative all year round. She will enjoy the summer if you take her outside, at least for a few hours in the sun.

Apple

Someone once gave this plant the name Tree of Life, and the real tree of life is actually an apple. If you have read the Scriptures, you will also know why: The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was planted by God in paradise so that man could perform the virtues of abstinence and fidelity to his Creator. The tree of life has given man immortality and the gift of distinguishing what is eternal from what is transient.

The famous tree of life. A beautiful plant, but I am annoyed by the people who, if they notice that you grow it, tell a bunch of nebulous sayings, the story of that tree. As if allowing it to dry out brings you misfortune and similar stories. If there’s one thing I hate it’s a sheer superstition so that’s why I think I’m the only one who doesn’t grow that kind of plant.
