Let's study our first rule.If you use "to" your sentence than you need to keep the present form of your verb. Whatever the sentence is,if you use "to" than you don't need to change the form of verb. As I've said keep the present form. Now let's see some examples with this rule.

Tasnea went to Market to buy some foods.
You need to play football.
We have to realise the importance of good health.
Now have a close look at the verbs.

"Buy", " "Play", "Realise" are in the present form because these words have "to". Let me repeat it again.

If you use "to" in your sentence than after "to" the verb form will be in present form. Clear?

Let's go to our second rule today. This is very simple.

If you use "by" in your sentence the verb should be in the "-ing" form. We often use "by" in our sentence but forget to add "-ing" to the verb which is totally wrong. So from next time don't do this mistake.

Rudea expressed his grief by saying that the thief had stolen his favorite smartphone.

See here after using "by" I've added "-ing" with the verb "say". Thats why it has become "saying". Let me remind you again.
If you use "by" in your sentence than dont forget to add "-ing".

Not only "by",the verb should be in the "-ing" form if you use "with a view to, looking forward to" in your sentence. After these words, the verb must be in the "-ing" form. Let's see an example.

I'm looking forward to playing cricket with you.
They are looking forward to enjoying the new year.
Rudea went to the market with a view to buying some necessary household items.

Now have a close look at the verbs. After using "with a view to" and "looking forward to" the verbs are "play","enjoy","buy" in the "-ing" form.

I've added "-ing".I'm reminding you again. Our avobe rule is all about when to use "-ing" form. Here is the answer. After using "by", "with a view to,"looking forward to" you need to add "-ing" to the verb. I think I've made it clear.

Now let's go to our third topic today.

If you want to express something that doesn't clearly say anything about the time or the time isn't specific than we often use "generally", "usually", "always","sometimes" ,"regularly", "daily" etc.

"Always" means something that happened every day. "Usually" means habit. The mentioned words means almost same.

Something that happens generally in the present time. Now what will be the form of after using these words?

The whole sentence will be in the "present indefinite tense" form. That means the verb will in the "present" form. Now let's see some example.

Rudea learns her lessons regularly.
He visits London sometimes.
She goes to office daily.
Do you read books regularly.

Now have a look closely at the verb form. "Learn", "visit", "go","read" are verbs I've used here and these verbs are in the present form and the whole sentence is in the "present indefinite tense." Is it clear?

Lets go to our fourth rule. After using have/has you need to change your verb to past participle form. If you use "had" the verb will be in the past participle form too. I'm telling you again. After using "have/has/had" the verb should be in the past participle form.
Don't forget this. Its a pure basic thing. Lets study some examples of this rule.

I have added salt.
He had planned a trip.
Rudea has planted a guava tree.
They have played tennis.

Now have a look closely the form of verbs. The verbs are in the past participle form.

After using "just, just now, already, yet, lately, ever and yet" you also need to follow the structure of present perfect tense and keep the participle form of the verb.Have you understood?

Ruda has taken his medicine just now.
Have you ever been to west Michigan?
I haven't received the fund yet.

Now have a close look at the formation of the verbs."Taken, been, received" are the verbs I've used in the sentence and these verbs are in the participle form. So let me remind you again. After using the mentioned words, you need to use the participle form of the verb.

There are thousands of rules. It is very hard to maintain every rules. I won't pressurise you. Just stick to basics of grammar. I think if you clear about your basics you writing will be more perfect.

It is impossible to follow all the grammatical rules but it is possible to follow some basic rules and most importantly we fear english grammar a lot. Please don't fear.

If you fear, you will not be able to learn anything. I'm here to dimminish your internal fear and phobia of grammar. Lets make learning easy.

On my next articles I will write about how to write fluently in English. If you have questions and didn't understand any of the rules ask me. I will give your answer.
