Do you usually go on leave from work?
Do you go off work on time?
My Supervisor/Manager always wanted us to go home on time and not over stay in the office but due to lots of admin tasks that we cannot complete during working hours we would really have to go beyond our shift schedule but it was all pretty fine with us.
But then, I read it somewhere that we better have to go home on time because those who don't do so are not happy at home and arrive to work not way too early. He wants us to spend more time with our family. He believes that giving time to your love ones is very important and is necessary.
With that, I asked for a long leave for like almost 2 weeks because I feel like I needed it so much. I needed the rest so I could miss my job and start to feel motivated in working. At times, it will never be enough that you have bills to pay or family to feed to keep that motivation but rather it is important that you are motivated to do your job because you love what you are doing.
As of today 1 week of the said leave has been spent and I really spent it as how I wanted to spend my rest days just sleeping, playing and taking good care of my kids.
TAKE A BREAK before YOU BREAK
I do not usually asked for a long leave but then I realize that a week won't be enough to also rest my emotions and soul. It feels like I really needed to just rest my mind of everything before I breakdown.
I have also been thinking about getting vax but really still unsure but one of the main reason is to have my mom checked by a Doctor. We suspected that she has a goiter.
My mom would have to undergo a lot of laboratory tests to confirm our suspicion. The Internal Medicine Specialist (Doctor) mentioned that he is thinking my mom might have high cholesterol or kidney problem.
But to make sure the Doctor needs to see couple of laboratory results. She is already done with ECG, blood pressure and XRAY.
Hopefully all goes well. I am planning to have my mom checked yearly, like a total general check up for her to make sure we can take good care of her health.
My mom used to be a Janitor then when she has to quit the job she started to cook and sell food. Being a vendor is way too stressful for her especially that she's already 51 years old. I asked her to stop and just take a rest or just do whatever she likes to do that she enjoys.
Going back to taking a BREAK. My manager posted in our gc that he has to go on short noticed leave due to health issues. He has been working non-stop especially when Covid started to hit the country. Attending back to back meetings which at times may leave him restless for like almost 24 hours.
I salute those people who has position in a company and did their best to make sure the company continues to float despite others sinking due to pandemic. It was never easy for everyone.
...end thoughts...
Do not wait for you to get sick before you realize how important it is for us to use our leave and take a chill. Remember, if there would be anything that might happen to us, our company can easily find a replacement in just about a week or two.
Sad but true.
