Power is Power
This is a phrase from the popular TV show- Game of Thrones.
Power is power and the one who holds it always has the best chance of getting what he or she wants. Power gives you control, influence and leverage. Power gives you the opportunity to move your desired direction. It allows you to express yourself in a way that others can’t or won’t.
There are many types of power, and power is important in many areas of life. For example, in terms of influence, powerful people don’t have to persuade others; rather, people just follow their lead. It’s true in relationships as well as in business and politics. Powerful people know how to lead, therefore they get things done without having to persuade or even ask. Likewise, the leader of an organization possesses power. They are able to direct personnel and make important decisions that ultimately impact other employees and the company as a whole.
It is the ability to make things happen without force or coercion. It's where you are recognized as a person to be admired and respected in your chosen field. It's recognition of your achievements and success. Power is a voice that is respected, a voice that is listened to and considered. What earns power is credibility and trustworthiness.
If you are respected for who you are and what you know, people will listen to what you have to say with interest, regardless of position and title. Power is influential because people have heard of your accomplishments and won't ignore them no matter how low a rank or level they hold within their organization or field of interest. When people come to know your name, they recognize that you can help them accomplish their goals through your experience, knowledge and expertise. That's power.
Power is a feeling. It's knowing you have the ability to make a choice and create the direction of your life. Looking back at my childhood, I was struck by how often I used the word powerful. In my mind, powerful meant control, influence, momentum and force. When I was young, powerful was about having the ability to impact others and advocate for what I wanted. In school, powerful meant being able to influence other people's opinions and make a difference in their lives. But as I grew up and learned about the world around me, I discovered that the meaning of power had changed. Like many others growing up here in my country, I began to equate power with fame and money. As I got older, powerful began to mean accumulating wealth and achieving celebrity status. And while these things can be great, they can also lead to an inaccurate representation of what true power is.
True Power
True Power lies in you, it is not bestowed or given, it is earned. You alone have the power to manifest incredible things in your life. All of it begins with a single thought formed from the deepest desires of your heart. To make that dream a reality you must take action by breaking down your goal into small tasks, starting with the first one and slowly accumulating all the necessary tools that will help you reach your destination.
How do we judge power? You’re told that it’s in the amount of money you have or in your reputation or in the company that you keep. It is not. True power lies in you.
How do we define power? The ability to influence, change, or act upon something or someone. True power lies within you.
What gives you power? The realization that you are the one to lead your life not anyone else. True power is being yourself.
How do we gain power? By looking within ourselves to realize what we want and what is holding us back from getting it. True power comes from within.
You have it, I have it and everyone has it, but not everyone knows how to use it and some simply don't know they have it. But, everyone has the potential to gain it. When you need the strength, confidence and wisdom to face a challenge or a difficult time, there is one place where you can find it: within yourself.
Some quotes are excuses. Some quotes you tell yourself to hide the truth; they let you accept your fate and embrace failure. I will not accept that fate. I refuse to give up. I know there's untapped power inside of me. Power I haven't discovered yet, power that scares even me sometimes. But I recognize that power because I know it. I recognize it because it's in me, it's in you. It's actually in all of us, we just have to figure out how to tap into it, how to harness it, how to use it to become the best version of us.
Finally, No one can determine your path. Your journey is yours, no one can take your right to think and decide for yourself. You have the right to choose, to live the way you want and choose your own destiny. You are in control. You are powerful. You are the master of your destiny. Nothing that happens, can change what is inside of you. There is no limit to what you can achieve. No obstacle can stand in your way, unless you let it. Fight for what you believe in, for what is inside of you and never give up - because you have power.
Power comes with a lot of responsibilities attached....
