Why do people take from others?

Yesterday morning was warm and today's morning is cold. My favorite morning; cold weather. I wasn't even expecting rainfall but it miraculously rained heavily at night. My head ache is gone and now, I can continue with my activities.

Good day READLAND, I hope everyone is doing great. Pleasures to say that am good and I hope everyone else is. Like my uncle thought me, I have already blessed my day, to bring goodness and love for me. That's by the way. Back to the topic...

Sometimes, I ask myself why some people chose to do nothing but device a way to take what others have worked and laboured for. When it was time for work, they sat doing nothing but after the time for work, they go about looking for whose labour to devour. What actually motivates them and how happy are they doing those things?

Some of these people who takes what doesn't belong to them are young and vibrant. They look so strong that they can work but have chosen the wrong part of life; to steal and cause pain to the world. Most unlucky ones have been caught, beaten and set ablaze in my country. It is wrong to take a life but till today in some parts of my country, they still see burning if criminals as a street law. Countless people who were caught taking what doesn't belong to them have been sent back to God by that, both men, women, young and old. The result is always regret.

Could it be hunger, laziness, poverty, high taste, or wickedness?

It is so shameful anytime I read news of people stealing from others at home, market or even at school, anywhere. I usually think about what would make someone commit that act. For what reason and what was the person thinking...

Let's say it because of hunger.

Hunger is a worldwide problem that is being conquered daily. Some people have won the fight against hunger for their future generation, they'll never lack to say that they are hungry again. Some people as well are still fighting to have enough and not go hungry everyday. Some are on the streets hawking and selling sachet water and water cans, all to get busy and get money to feed. In today's world, there are things we could do to get feeding money instead of taking from others forcefully or unknowingly. Hunger is never a justified reason for stealing. There are still beggars on the street and they get something to eat from the little people give them. Therefore, it is better to be called a beggar than to be addressed as a thief.

Let's say it because of laziness..

A person who is lazy to work should be lazy enough not to have the strength and time to take what doesn't belong to him or her. Laziness I mean here is unwilling to work. Some people who are good at taking people's things have laziness as a skill. They refuse to work and stay for themselves as if they don't go hungry again. It a pity to tell that a man was beaten to death because he doesn't he was lazy but will steal from his lodge mates. He was caught severally and on a bad day for him, he was sent back to his maker by mob action. Tough luck for him and how he met his end. There are simple works to do these days to earn daily livings even if a person does not have much strength to work. Laziness is not a reason to take what belongs to others who have worked. An African proverb says that; soiled hands brings oiled mouth. which means that to work is to eat.

Let's say it because of poverty...

When people say that a person committed a crime because the person is poor, I use to tell myself that nobody has enough. We all lack one or two things that motivates us to work for it. People say that poverty is the root of all evil and I think that's correct instead of saying that money, is the root of all evil. The extra meaning of poverty to me is lack of poor reasoning or not thinking smartly. Their are more crimes in poor areas than a developed areas. I believe that if a person sits down and think out a good solution of what to do and how to do them, gradually will be a change in persons life. Poverty could also be asa result of poor management of resources.

Let's say it because of high taste..

We all know what pleases us and we should as well know how to get that by working towards achieving them. Things can be tempting that sometimes people see what they like and want to have it in their possession. It could be car or clothing or even money. Some people in quest to have what they saw, they go into stealing from others causing pains to their fellow humans. Kidnappers who call huge ransom for their victims and high way armed robbers fall into this high taste criminals. What is bad is always bad. We should cut our coat according to our size and hang out bags within our reach.

Let's say that people steal for wickedness sake..

Just to make others feel bad and cause them life regret. Some people will see others progressing and will do just everything within their power to stop the progress. They could arrange criminals to go steal from their victim, or go as far as killing them. News of prominent men being robbed and killed in my country is a monthly occurrence. No one to trust again, work colleagues aren't safe to trust, friends on the other hand aren't safe to trust again. Why would two people do business together and one of them betray the other? lack of trust.

Closing Thought:

I really can not tell why some people see fraud and stealing as fun and as occupation. So many people have suffered and have heartbreak from being scammed or stolen from. Some people die out of frustration while some people's life are hopeless. All because of falling a victim of fraud and criminals, lazy people who chose to cause harm to the world. They are worse than a torn in a flesh but I believe that karma and shame will fall on anyone who has fraud and stealing as occupation. The pain they have caused people will be back to them at last and they will be payed in their own coins.

For those that stands t work and contribute positively to the world, may our success know no bound and may we achieve all our good desires. We have to be careful and guide ourselves and what we have from these scammers and criminals looking for whose farm to harvest where they did not plant.
